Even when Spike was soulless and Cordy was still pretending to care about her movie career, nobody else was more protect over their 'families' than these two

Obviously by people who just aren't willing to see the amazingness of both of them - even looking at them from a non-fan POV, neither character is selfish, at all. Even when Cordy was Queen B and Spike was Dru's, they were selfless.

Exactly.

Spike practically gave up his own life to take care of a sick Drusilla, no other vampire would do that.

And Cordy never had to help the scoobies, she did anyway.

Every time the Scoobies asked something of Cordy, she said yes. Even if she didn't particularly like them at the time, like in season 3.

And Spike just seemed to love with his whole being - you could call him a monster, or Cordy shallow in the beginning, but that doesn't mean they're selfish.

Exactly.

I'd say that Buffy and Angel were more selfish then Cordy or Spike were, despite their faults.

Buffy and Angel were definatly selfish with their love.

That's why the couples worked so well together, definitely - when BA were together, neither of them were particularly selfless when it came to the other, I think even Angel leaving in s3 can be more down to what he wanted to do rather then any need for Buffy - if he'd been completely selfless, he would have stayed and seen it out. Just because they couldn't have sex didn't mean anything, CA couldn't have sex and you didn't see him leaving town the moment he realised he was in love with Cordy

And, well, Spike just never left Buffy

I agree. Buffy and Angel were very selfish people together. I saw Angel do things more selfless around Cordelia then he ever did around Buffy.

They just both brought out the best in each other, in each couple. I don't see how people can't see that sometimes

I so agree. Both Angel and Buffy were complete with Spike and Cordy. I mean when Angel was with Buffy she never brought him out bring him to become more human and yet still being a vampire... she didn't know how to balance it out.
Whereas when he was with Cordy she brought out human side to Angel while still making sure Vampire is who he was. She called him a Manpire, a Vampire whose cuddly, I mean she balanced both qualities of Angel out.

When it came to Buffy... same thing... Angel didn't know how to balance out the whole Slayer regular girl thing. Especially since he was a vampire. That's mostly what they kept going on about how he was a Vampire she was a Slayer... they should be mortal enemies. But when Spike came along he balanced her out too.
He showed Buffy what it meant to be a slayer... whether you were in love with a vampire or not... it's the same. you're who you are and you have to face the fact. Spike completely showed Buffy a new side to life to where she finally became truly happy with who she was.

So true, Mel! They made each other happy because they understood one another.

Those caps are adorable!

They're the perfect couples - even if they'd kept Angel/Cordy on Buffy, I hope they still would have gone with CA/SB, it just makes more sense.

I'm surprised we didn't get a Cordy/Angel/Buffy triangle. There were a few hints at one, like in Some Assembly Required and Halloween, but it never played out. Instead they went with Xander/Buffy/Angel with a side of Willow angst.

I could have done without the Willow angst - I really liked her so much more when she moved past her Xander obsession

But I don't think they could have legitimately done a CAB triangle and yet still had Angel doing nothing but pining for Buffy, it would have messed with the BA tortured souls angst they had worked for them, throwing in a ball of bitchy sunshine like Cordy
