I like the few Cangel moments we got Season 4 and Spike/Angel dynamic Season 5. It still would have been much better with Cordy there though. She was the heart of the show. I loved YW though. Didn't really mind Connor not being there then.

Oh and Cordy's parents not being explained much really has always bugged me.

The more I think about it the more I'm sure Cordy's the only one without a fleshed out family story. Other than Cordy, Giles is the only character that never had a relative on-screen in some form.

BtVS
Buffy: We knew Joyce, her father was in a few episodes and talked about quite a bit over the seasons, and Dawn showed up in Season 5
Willow: We know she was an only child and her father's name was Ira. We met her mother in "Gingerbread"
Giles: In "The Dark Age" we find out his family has a long history with the Watcher's Council
Xander: It's mentioned in several episodes that his parents drank and fought a lot, we saw his family in "Hell's Bells"

Ats
Angel: His mother, father, and sister were introduced in flashbacks, he killed them
Wesley: His father worked for Watcher's Council and they have a strained relationship, keeps in contact with his mother. A robotic version of his father appeared in Season 5.
Fred: Her parents were in several episodes and we got flashbacks to when she lived in Texas
Gunn: His parents were killed when he was a teenager. He took care of his younger sister until she was turned and he had to stake her.
Lorne: We met his family during the Pylea arc.

Cordy: Her parents were rich, then poor. Her mother called once during season 1.

It's really weird we got to meet Lorne's parents but not Cordy's.

It never really occured to me that we got to see just about everyone's family and not hers. I wonder why that was. It would have been interesting to see where she came from. Even a camo from her parents would have been nice.

One of the episodes shows a picture of a couple we're supposed to assume are her parents but neither looked anything like her. I think it's one of the episodes where she has amnesia.

It's been awhile since I watched BtVS regularly so details have faded but did Xander ever mention meeting Cordy's parents?

Re-watching season 1 recently has made me wonder what a Cordy/Angel/Doyle/Wes fang gang would have been like. Wes and Doyle were polar opposites so it probably would have been pretty funny but I wonder if it would have been possible to fit Wes into the little group that was already there between C/A/D.

Yeah, it would have been interesting how it would have been if Doyle had been still there when Wesley showed up. I think Wesley would also have come to LA if Doyle hadn´t died ´cause it was accidentally and he didn´t know about him.

I would've liked to see a good-natured rivalry between them. Wesley found out information through research and Doyle used contacts on the street. Doyle was crushing on Cordelia and she used to have a crush on Wes. They would've been hilarious together and driven Angel completely crazy.

I loved the humor in the first season and that's something that faded away throughout the series. I would've watched the first season dynamic for eight years if the show had gone that way.

Yeah, there was barely any humour on the show anymore in the last seasons, they got darker and darker. That´s not good because there should be always a bit to laugh on a TV show, not only serious things.
