For a show that had a lot of dark storylines, Angel was very funny. I like that each character had a sense of humor instead of just having one character for comic relief.

Yeah, every character of the show had his/her own funny sides, that was also something that got lost in season 5.

I love when Cordy and Wes pretend to be Buffy and Angel. They're so over the top and they really get into it, Gunn and Fred are laughing, and Angel's entrance is hilarious! Does anyone else have a favorite funny moment?

One of my favourite Angel & Gunn scenes is in Waiting In The Wings, where Angel comes back with tickets for the ballet instead of Gunn's band:

Gunn: "No. No! This is not Mahta Hari. This is tutus, and guys with their big-ass packages jumping up and down. This is just... (To Angel) I will never trust you again. The trust is gone."

Cordy: "Oh, get over it. Do we get dressed up?"

Angel: "Of course."

Cordy: "I'm in."

Angel: "Guys, seeing real ballet live it's... (sighs) it's like another world. Gunn, these guys are tight, and you're gonna be trippin' out."

Gunn: "Don't be usin' my own phrases when we lost the trust."

I love that last line

I also like the scene when they realize the ballet company hasn't aged since Angel first saw them.

Cordy: "Well, they're not a deeply tanned bunch."

Gunn: "That would explain the precision and the athleticism. I mean, some of those jumps were... (Sees the others looking at him) You know, I was cool before I met you all."

I love Gunn. One of my favorite scenes with him is in "Guise Will Be Guise" when he and Angel are breaking into Wolfram & Hart and Cordy and Wes try to stop them.

Cordelia: Gonna be a pretty short ride. They have vampire detectors!

Gunn: We know. It's cool. He's got a plan.

Wesley: A plan?

Gunn: See? (Whips his head around to stare at Angel) What? *That's* the plan? Walking real quick was the "plan"?

Gunn was one of my fave characters, plus that ep was great the whole thing at the end when everything comes out is hilarious

The humor and the interaction among the gang were what made the show so good. It allowed them to do darker storylines because they had that balance to keep things from getting too depressing. Whenever they messed with either dynamic I didn't enjoy the show as much.

yeah i agree, - i think it's goes to show joss's genius as well bc when they wanted it to be funny it worked, when they wanted it to be dark it worked, & all the things in between worked. really an amazing cast & crew to make that work

Yeah, the humour of all cast members lightened the show up, so it didn´t get depressing when there were darker storylines. But I think when Cordy was gone, the other characters lost their funny sides too.
