Yeah the only person in the AI team who kept in communication was Cordelia. I mean Angel never did. And in the Scooby the only one who kept with communication was Willow.

I guess it was maybe too hard/awkward for the rest of them to keep in contact with each other - Willow and Cordelia were kind of neutral friends, in a way, they hadn't had that much happen to them together that was either embarrassing or uncomfortable

I also hate that no-one of the scoobies had heard about Cordys death, Xander and Willow had even known her when they were children from what I´ve heard.

Belonging in the sense of wanting to belong. Cordelia was at the top of popularity who just wanted to be seen for herself and belong to a group.
Willow was the exact same thing except she was at the bottom of popularity.

Maybe Cordy had thought in Highschool that Willow wasn´t on her level and Willow thought Cordy was just a shallow bitch, that was the reason they didn´t become friends.

Aside from that though - their differences in HS was just too noticable - even if they got on in later years, I think that had a lot to do with Willow maturing and gaining a lot more confidence within herself.

She probably would have been Cordy's friend if she'd been able to believe in herself more - and if she didn't look like she shopped in Sears

I don't know about that.. Cordy would have to show her other side aswell for that to work out. I mean sure Willow needed to grow more confident in herself, but Cordy would have to be not too shallow, remember that's why Buffy stopped being Cordy's friend because she put others down.

I think Willow wouldn't have taken any notice of Cordy's shallow side though, if they'd been more similar when they were younger - Cordy just got away with it for so long because Harmony and the Cordettes were a bit vacuous

Willow would have definitely pulled her up on it sooner, if Willow had just believed in herself more.

Or maybe they wouldn't have been friends, either way. I think it's probably the extreme circumstances of Buffy having to rescue Cordy from monsters who wanted to cut off her head that made Willow and Cordy bond at all

even though it may have been the monsters it still bonded all of them. Actually I think if it weren't for the monsters they'd all be on different tracks actually.
