I was under the notion that if it's that difficult to give birth the natural way, that they would do the C-Section. I don't mind having kids in the near future, but I'm afraid of delivering them. Especially given how many hours it does take. And the craziness you go through.

Or at least from what I've seen.

But I'm sure you'll pull through on this one.

Do they have those classes where you learn how to breathe or something?

Well, my sister was already passed her due date so the doctor was worried that the baby shouldn't be in there. So, they tried to induce her Wednesday but by the time her water broke Thursday afternoon, she had only dilated 2 centimeters. To be given an epidural, you have to be at least 4 centimeters dilated. She was pretty much in limbo and extreme pain for nearly 30 hours!

Finally, after she had a bad reaction to the medicine she was receiving, the doctor felt the baby needed to come out. It was all very crazy. In all, thankfully my sister and brand new nephew are doing okay. Her recovery is going to take some time but she's trying to hang in there. It's like whether I go for a vaginal or C-section, it's going to be tough. I'm just really freaked out about it but I really have no other choice. One way or another, this baby of mine is going to have to come out. What have I gotten myself into?

Yes they do. I learned so much already from going to the classes with my sister but I'm planning to start the classes with my husband sometime in the next few weeks. But reality is - no matter how many classes you go to, you'll never be totally ready for what's going to happen in that hospital. But we'll just go and learn what we need to, I guess.

See that's the scary part.

On the other hand, there are women who wouldn't mind not having the epidural at all. Either it's for religious beliefs or personal, I don't know.

I don't understand why anyone would sit through that sort of pain.

Anyway, put me down for 10 shots of the epidural stuff - it won't bother me at all!

My brother didn't want anesthetic when he was getting a cavity feeling. I obviously would need it because I could still (kind of) feel the drilling when I got my tooth filled.

Like I said, I love kids, I'm just always having scary thoughts of the birth process. Did they give you guys a due date or something?

I'd think your brother would change his mind if he had to push a human being through um... a certaiin part of the body.

My due date is September 10th but it could be two weeks before that or after that when the baby comes out. I just hope she isn't overdue.

What I'd be scared of is if it's way before that. If it were to happen to me that is.

Yes, it's expensive (between $500 and $800) but if I keep up on this saving binge, I'll eventually get it.

What you think of the new colors here? I think it's pretty good.
