Sara survived seeing the true form of the death Fate which no mortal has ever survived and it seemed to give her some kind of premonition powers. Having her survive is much more interesting than her powers. As for Ava as Captain, Sara keeps leaving so Ava can be in charge. I think they are going to hook Constantine up with New Zari.

Last season the Legends changed the timeline so Zari never joined them. Her brother did instead. So now we have new Zari who is a social media influencer. Caity has pretty much missed 3 out of the 10 episodes so far, then when she is in the eps she barely does anything besides try to make Ava feel better.
