4x09 - episode discussion

BELIEVE IT OR NOT — When the Legends hear that Mona (Roman Young) has let a fugitive go, they must head to 1961 Mexico City to clean up her mess. Mona tries to convince the Legends and the Bureau that the people responsible for releasing the fugitive were some mysterious Men in Black and not her. With no evidence to back up her theory, the Legends must decide if they should trust her and go against the Bureau. Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Zari (Tala Ashe) go on a recon mission to find out what Hank (guest star Tom Wilson) might be hiding from everyone.

Caity Lotz, Matt Ryan, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Jes Macallan and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star.

He uses the memory wipe way too much.

Still loving the legends intro this season.

Zari actually believe that Mona is telling the truth... Sara isn't so sure.

Zari and Nate! This is a alliance I've loved since the whole timeloop episode. However, I ruled out them actually becoming a thing.
Wonder if that was foreshadowing.

Guess we'll see what happens in their fake date....

Ava and Sara have an angsty moment but they'll work through it by the end.

Seems that Nate saw the real footage of what Hank was hiding. He's contorting him head on. Nate still just trusts Hank.

Ava... unfortunately Sara is correct here...

Ava and Sara both have a different mindset when it comes to these magical beings.
Ava believes that anything can happen to them and she doesn't care.
Sara is telling her that their way of handling things are terrible.

Wow. Ava tells Sara that they are done.
I do like that they didn't have a quick makeup together....

I don't expect this break up to last but still surprising it happened here...

Mona basically telling Konane they need to go their own way...
I truly believe that something bad is going to happen... this seems too good to be true... hope he lives though....
She doesn't belong in his world but she wants him to be okay and go to his world.
What a sad but lovely love story.

I'm glad this show is back.*Mexican wrestling, Cards to save the timeline, Kaupe's, men in black and Zari being told she has has childbearing hips.*

Ray's cards against humanity game sound more fun than chorewheel, count yourselves lucky John and Charlie.* They are becoming Legends whether they want to or not. I also love that they are continuing the meta. Vandal Savage that's a real name? and I thought Damian Darhk was too on the nose. I guess they didn't forget about Nate being a hemophiliac.*

I loved Mick talking to Mona about his books.*

I love that Sara trusts her team, that's why they trust her. She let Zari look into Mona's claim because her team is about helping the lost ones. Ava's still about following the rules no matter the cost. I'm sure she'll come around but*the Legends are Sara's family if Ava can't understand that then she's not right for her. Sara's about her team over the mission and that's why I love her. That's why the Legends are a true team. **I mean Mona probably has to stay with them now but she saw what Sara does for her team, what she'll give up to do the right thing. That's the leader you follow.**

Did Ava get brainwashed or something? She wouldn't even hear Sara out. It seemed OOC from the character development she had earlier...

... I mean... unless Hank found another clone to replace her with, and the Ava we know is locked up somewhere?

At first I was confused because I thought she was evil and than I was like...ooohhhhh I think she got scratched and that's how/why she turned to it.

Remember 2 episodes ago? none of us knew what happened with Mona because the next episode focused on Constantine messing up time so this episode really was the continuation of the end of 4x07 in a way. If my memory is correct.

Yep, Mona got scratched by the Kaupe that's why she turned into one. She was never evil. She was just trying to protect the magical creatures especially the Kaupe.

Shes the werewolf joining the team that was teased before the season started. They will probably have to help her control her animal impulses, which I hope its Mick that does.

Dave, a Kaupe is a malevolent spirit from Hawaii that has the body of a man and the head of a dog, that calls out to people at night to lure them to their deaths. According to legend, he used to rule Nu'uanu Valley.

Legends made him into a werewolf type creature. Mona got turned into a Kaupe from being scratched by him. What has Mona done to be untrustworthy? I haven't seen her do anything that the rest of the Legends haven't done.
