If you read a Firestorm comic it'll be great if you got one with Jefferson.

Since in the comics Jax is just one of Ronnie's best friends.

Firestorm 1-3 (2004) I didn't read much of it but it's the introduction of Jason Rusch version of Firestorm after Ronnie died.
Firestorm [Volume 2] #1 (1982) - First introduction of Jefferson Jackson. And introduction to Lorraine Reilly, who eventually becomes Firehawk.
Justice League of America 179 / 180 - Firestorm joining the JLA.
Firestorm Volume 2 #8 (1983) - First appearance of Jefferson's girlfriend and Ronnie going to move with Jefferson and other friends after leaving his house.
DC Comics Presents 17 - Firstorm and Superman teams up.
