what strikes me is how allison also comes across as 'cute' as opposed to the other supermodels and 'drop dead gorgeous' types the show had

but the thing is 'cute' is what people like more because you can talk to them, rather than be running away from someone that you think is too good for you

With that to account for, she must have had very little self awareness of herself, especially in light of the potential kinks shes been alleged into doing

Another question is people change/ reinvent themselves as they got older, her recent photos (on instagram and twitter) suggest that shes been trying to stay the same (lookswise). maybe the cult tapped into that lack of self awareness and brought out an extremely dark side of the person

Plus, a lot of books/articles about child and teen actors stress the point that these people miss what we have all experienced: a youth where they collected certain experiences, made mistakes, and matured as people. These actors/actresses skipped all that and proceeded straight into an 'adult-like' work rhythm. They act professionally, and they certainly are. But inside, there remains a void that apparently keeps on growing. This insecurity makes them vulnerable and susceptible to manipulation. What's disgusting is that people like this cult leader prey on these poor, insecure souls. There are other, similar organizations in Hollywood, especially. But I don't want to start a broader discussion. That said, I never thought AM would be the one I'd read such headlines about. She always came across as well-balanced. But surfaces are deceiving, I guess.

the thing that bothered me the most was Allison seemed like the one who was going to get the most work after the show, she seemed 'accessible' and looked like she could play 'normal people' or delve into the indie scene -she had a role on wilfred which was a promise of the potential direction she could have gone in.

and if not, i was more than accepting if she disappeared into obscurity because "when your time is up its up" for whatever reason , people move on

Perhaps its something about her reality that meant something essential was missing, or believing in your own hype, if she believed that she was "too good for everyone" because she hung around (or lived vicariously through) vain people in a show which was known for that, then she badly needed a reality check

The bottom line is, its all been a bit of a waste

Such wasted potential. Of a human life. That's what makes me sad of all... She could have used her fame for so much good! And if that wasn't possible, at least to be a decent human being.

the thing is, if acting was all she knew in life, she was more susceptible to being brainwashed

in acting class they make you channel something you experienced and make it into a scene

for allison mack, she was an actor since she was a child, she was never built to be a person (or actress) from real life experiences

the cult tapped into a scary dark side (which we're not taught) and its going to be very hard to put her back together, if at all
