Though they argued and disagreed with stuff, I felt they handled it as an adult. I'm glad we didn't see them physically fight like teenagers.

Though we did see Ollie throw a punch at Lex and them fighting it out, ha.

Not really because if you think about it and TRULY look at Clark and Lex relationship WITHOUT the blinders on to their friendship. Lex was deeply obsessed with Clark. Right from the day he saved him on the bridge. And Lex was a grown man obsessed with a teenage boy. He believed he loved him as a brother, but he more like loved him out of curiousity for what he can do.

It's why Lex never can stop questioning Clark after every save, he investigated Clark throughout the whole 3 seasons to figure him out... had his own secret Clark room and everything. It was a room he had locked and when Helen saw that, she was sort of freaked out... and of course when Lionel gave Clark the key to that room, that was the beginning of the end for their friendship.

In season 8, Clark and Tess had a conversation about that. Since she knew of Lex obsession.

I think that in Lex heart he truly believed that he loved Clark so much, but his obsession was the ruler. Even in moments when he looked at Clark with his family, that was envy and jealousy of what he couldn't have. When he saw Clark with Lana, it was what he couldn't have and probably why he fell in love with Lana because Clark once loved her. His obsession ruled everything...

Yeah, that all makes sense. So he really was never friends with Clark, as much as he was obsessed with him, wow, and being jealous over everything he has.

It's so touch because I truly believe he viewed him as a great friend but since he never had many friends, he couldn't tell.

That's true. Lex didn't have friends, but he doesn't really know how to be a friend.

Yup... although I guess Duncan was his first real friend but even with Duncan... in the end Lex betrayed him because he needed to fit in.

So, he just never knew how to be a friend...

Although I would say Clark wasn't a great friend a lot of the time as well.
