For me I never really saw her as a replacement so I never really compared her to Michael but I just never really felt anything for her character, it just too me a long while to but eventually I just loved her strength and how great of a personality she had.

Tess was just a great addition to the show.

I didn't love her in the beginning either. I think that's pretty normal since she's a new character and we need time to warm up to anyone new.

I also enjoyed watching scenes between Tess and Lex, though they were usually angsty.

^ Their scenes in the series finale were intense... and still so strange that Tess was once in love with Lex... not knowing he was her brother.

Me too, Tia. Obviously what a great deal of depth their love story gave to both characters.
