Yes it is! a great beginning followed by an even terrific 2nd part.
The 2nd part, we just see the characters grow more.

I love the end of Superman: The Movie! terrific screaming acting by Christopher Reeve. Lois slowly putting together that Clark is Superman and Jimmy noticing how much Lois means to Superman.
