^I agree with you.

I'm a little disappointed about the "sequel" news. It feels too soon, and I really think Supes needed another standalone movie to establish himself better. Not what I wanted.

Oh well, I'll get over it.

Yeah we just gotta deal with it. I'm grateful we're getting a sequel and I've always wanted them together on screen so I'm excited about that.

I keep going back and forth- I mean yeah it would have been good to have a stand alone MOS sequel but after reading so many World's Finest comics and graphic novels I am beyond stoked for it.

I just hope they get a really good actor to play Batman.

Christian Bale is just the epitome of the character and does such a great job, especially with that dark edge to his voice as Batman so it might be hard to top that.

I think part of my problem I'm having is I'm not a Batman fan. There, I said it. I've just never cared or even been remotely into his character. I've seen all the movies, he just doesn't do it for me.

I think the only version of Batman I've liked is HISHE in the Super Cafe. Good times.

I'm not quite as down on the news as I was the other day. I'm starting to accept it. I will say I was very happy to hear Diane Lane is going to be back. Loved her in MOS and really enjoyed her and Clark's relationship and was wishing for her to be in future installments. So, yay!

Hmm. I'm not a Batman fan myself either. Not really sure why he should be in the sequel to MOS. I want more focus on Superman. It sounds like a cool idea for a spin off or something for the fans of both superheroes, but I will not be interested in the MOS sequel if they have Batman in it. Besides, he's just had plenty of movies made about him recently. The new Superman needs a chance to really shine for his sequel. Rather early days in the development for the sequel so perhaps it's just a rumour anyway. I don't know.

Batman makes my list of top 3 DC superheroes, he is my #3. Green Arrow is my #2.

I'm hoping Batman will be a minor part of the film, not major. Though I suspect it will be the latter.

I only have 1 DC superhero on my list, Superman. Then again, I only have 1 Marvel Superhero(s) on my list, X-Men. It's a list of 2 really. All the others are just varying degrees of meh, even though I watch, and usually enjoy all the movies/tv. It's a thing.

Well it's for sure confirmed by Snyder and Warner Brothers and everyone. He said at ComicCon that it'll be inspired by The Dark Knight Returns comic which imo has a bad interpretation of Superman so :/

Heh HISHE!Batman is fun. I agree, I really want Superman to shine in this sequel. I would be jumping up and down for joy if this WF movie was announced to be taking place AFTER a legit MoS sequel.

I can't wait to see Lois and Diane Lane's Martha again, the ladies are amazing.

That's a real shame to be honest. If it's a major Batman role in the MOS sequel then I'm afraid I'll be less likely to want to go see it. But you never know, I was open minded for the first film, so maybe I can be open minded about this one. I guess time will tell.

That's what I'm afraid of. Can I just say how much I loathe the idea of any type of a fight between the two? I think that's my biggest issue with having Batman in the movie. They're going to have to have a big old brawl. *sigh*

I'm just going to get an early start on my positive thinking.

this is a great clarification by a fan Who was in comic con personally regarding the sequel and that quote from frank miller's dark knight returns comic book:

Quote:
"First, Snyder announced he will be doing a Superman sequel not a team movie. He also said that the element he would be spoiling was to help tell this story, the continuing story about SUPERMAN. Where MOS left off, Clark had just become and accepted as Superman to some but not all (we all know Lex is one of these citizens who does not accept Superman). Also, Clark/Superman is still growing, learning, a rookie basically. He's not the fully formed, 75 years of experience Superman nor is he the Superman that went into the FOS and emerged 12 years later knowing everything and doing no wrong.

Secondly, while they used a quote from The Dark Knight Returns (I think it was used because for many fans it is one of the more recognizable quotes and probably fits more in line with how this first meeting between these two giants will occur - distrustful, wary, even "combative" and that seems to be always the case when these two first meet in the comics), Snyder stressed that the sequel was NOT going to be an adaptation of Frank Miller's Batman story.
"

So the sequel will not be an adaptation of Dark Knight Returns comic book and it will be a SUPERMAN movie with Batman on it as a supporting protagonist

Honestly, i'm pretty surprise with this development(the batman thing) but I won't be dismissing this until there are further proof a year from now that will give me a reason to be worried with it. Jumping to conclusions with no solid evidence to back you up is not the way to go regarding this matter. the MOS team are still tweaking the sequel script at this moment. It's the same situation when years ago, people irrationally were jumping their conclusions that Lois Lane will not be in Man of Steel BUT they were proven so wrong.LOL! so i will wait and see until further notice!

and MOS writer david goyer on clark/lois relationship on the sequel:

Quote:
Goyer: "Obviously we sidestepped the alter ego problem in this movie. We were conscious of that. Obviously it’s not an issue with Lois. Moving forward she’s his secret keeper, and part of the fun for us if we do move forward is they will be involved in a real relationship and she will be part of that, maintaining that fiction.

I know!

and Omigod! I love brandon routh for saying this!

I was also not a fan of Routh's portrayal of superman but I do like Routh as a person-- a very kind, down to earth , humble guy . and i did appreciate his DP Clark variation compared to Chris Reeve. But it's just too bad that he had Bryan Singer as the director/main writer of Superman:Returns... I'm forever bitter against Bryan Singer for creating the script of superman:returns.

Oh my gosh, in that gif Brandon looks almost exactly like a younger version of my neighbor when I was younger. He just needs a pair of glasses. <--- I realize that sounds rather amusing after I typed that.

And also because it left him unavailable to to X-Men The Last Stand and it was Bret Ratner instead, right? My top two favorite superheros with the most disappointing movies all in the same year. It was a rough time for my inner nerd. All will be forgive Mr Singer if DOFP lives up to it's potential.
