Smallville Fan Fiction #1

Hey guys.
Since Fan Fiction board will be closing on October 8, I wanted to start a thread where you can post and discuss fan fiction.
You can also link to Fan Fiction websites, but you can’t link to other fan fiction message boards.

Just please use your discretion concerning what is proper for Fan Forum, since this is a PG-13 board.
If the rating of your fan fiction is higher, you can always link to it.

And to make it easier for everyone to find the fic they want to read, you could fill out this little form if you want:

Title/Link:
Author:
Pairing: (if any)
Rating:
Warnings: (if needed)
Spoilers: (when applicable)
Short summary:

Have fun posting/reading!

Thanks, I thought it would be good to have our own fan fic archive of sorts. It would surely make it easier to find something to read when one is in the mood.

Thanks for starting the thread, Cris! Maybe I can post the full version of my Lollie fan fic which doesn't have a title yet.

I hope to read other fan fics, especially Lollie. I love Lois and Oliver together!

Title/Link: Aiming Higher
Author: Kelly G
Pairing: Lois/Oliver Clark/Chloe (not as a couple)
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Spoilers: possibly some for the episode "Rage"
Short summary: Oliver plans a surprise date for Lois, set after "Reunion" and before "Rage."

Aiming Higher

“Lois, would you schedule that meeting with Senator Hartley for next week?” Martha Kent asked.
Lois looked up from her laptop. “Sure thing, Mrs. Kent.” She made a note in her appointment book. Clark and Chloe entered the Kent’s kitchen. “Hey, Smallville.” Lois greeted Clark. “Chloe, what are you doing here?”
Clark and Chloe exchanged glances. “Clark’s helping me with an article about dark Thursday.”
“Clark?! I’ve never pictured you as the reporter type.” Lois looked at Clark in disbelief.
“I wrote a few articles for the school paper.”
“And they were quite good.” Chloe added.
“Thanks, Chloe.” Clark smiled at her.
“Anytime.” Chloe smiled back.
“Ok. Whatever.” Before Lois could say anything further there was a knock on the door.
“Were you expecting someone?” Martha asked.
Clark shook his head.
“I’ll get it.” Lois said, a little too eagerly. “Oliver!” Lois exclaimed as she opened the door. Her welcoming smile faded immediately. Instead of the tall, blond, handsome CEO of Queen Industries that she expected, there stood a tall, blond teenager holding a bouquet of a dozen red roses.
“Flowers for Lois Lane?” the delivery boy said uncertainly.
“I’m Lois,” Lois said, taking the flowers from him. “Thank you.”
The boy remained standing at the door.
“Lois, I think he’s waiting for something,” Clark reminded her.
“Oh, right.” She handed him a tip.
“That’s already been taken care of.” He stood there staring at her. “You sure are pretty.”
Clark lowered his head to hide the amused grin on his face.
Lois smiled sweetly. “Um, thanks, but I already have a boyfriend.” Lois closed the door on him.
“Looks like Oliver better be careful. He could have some competition.” Clark teased.
Lois made a face.
“I’ll get you a vase for those.” Martha said.
“Oliver sent you roses! Wow, what a man! Chloe sighed.
“Jonathan used to give me flowers when we were dating.” Martha smiled at the memory.
“Do women really go for this?” Clark asked.
“Yes!” All three women answered at once.
“What does the card say?” Chloe asked.
Lois read the card aloud. “Lois, Sorry I couldn’t deliver these in person, but I decided to take your tip to aim higher. Meet me at the Queen Industries building at 8:00 pm. Oliver.”
Clark’s eyebrow went up. “What’s this tip to ‘aim higher’?”
Lois blushed slightly. “I mistook Oliver for a delivery boy and I told him he could do better.”
“Really? You told him that?!” Clark laughed.
There was another knock at the door. Lois answered it.
“Package for Lois Lane.”
Lois took the large white box from the delivery boy and thanked him, closing the door quickly to avoid a repeat from before.
Chloe and Martha both gathered around Lois. Clark stood back and watched as Lois lifted the lid off. Gingerly, she held up the emerald green evening gown. Lois was speechless.
“Wow!” was all Chloe could say.
“It’s beautiful!” Martha said. “So romantic.”
Clark rolled his eyes. He couldn’t believe they were all smitten with Oliver Queen.
Lois finally found her voice. “Take notes, Smallville. You might learn something.”
to be continued....

Short summary: Oliver plans a surprise date for Lois, set after "Reunion" and before "Rage."

It was five minutes to eight. Lois stood in impatient anticipation as the old elevator slowly made its way to the top to Oliver’s penthouse apartment. The door slid open and Lois stepped out, expecting to see Oliver. He was nowhere to be seen.
“Oliver?” Lois looked around the empty apartment. She spied a single, long- stemmed rose lying atop his desk. Curious, she went over and found that there was also a small black box. With trembling fingers she lifted the lid. Glittering against a black velvet pillow was an emerald and diamond necklace with matching earrings. A small card read: come up to the roof.
Lois put on the necklace and earrings then climbed the few stairs to the rooftop. As she opened the door she noticed a small table for two with a white linen table cloth and a single candle. Near the table were two candelabra.
Oliver, dressed in a black tux, stood by the balcony with his back to her. He heard her approach. Without turning around, he asked, “Is this high enough for you?”
“You’re never going to let me live that down are you?” Lois asked.
Oliver laughed.
Lois had moved to stand next to him. “Nice view,” she commented gazing at the lights from the city.
“Breathtaking.” Oliver agreed, his eyes not leaving her face. He took a step back to take in all of her. “You look beautiful, and the necklace brings out the color in your eyes.”
Lois touched a hand to the necklace. “Ollie, they’re beautiful. They must cost a fortune. It’s too much, I can’t accept them.”
His smile faded. “They were my mother’s. Emeralds were her favorite. I wanted you to have them.”
She’d blundered again. She saw the hurt in his eyes. “I’m- I’m honored.”
The light sparked in his eyes. “Then you’ll accept them?”
“Yes. Thank you.” She smiled at him.
“Hungry?” smiling back, he extended his hand.
“Famished.” She took his hand and let him lead her over to the table. Oliver held the chair for her and after she was seated he sat down across from her.
Lois picked up a silver fork. “Is this real silver?” He nodded. “Wow, you really went all out didn’t you?”
“You deserve the best.”
The look he gave her sent a shiver down her spine. She blushed. Oliver Queen knew how to treat a woman. It made her wonder how many other women he’d known. He’d had the reputation of being a playboy. She pushed the thoughts away.
“Are you going to eat?” Oliver asked.
Lois lifted the silver plate cover. “Roast chicken is nice.”
“Actually, that’s a Cornish hen. I shot it myself.” At her horrified, disbelieving look, he quickly added, “kidding; you know I’m not very good with a bow.”
“I’ve never had Cornish hen before. I’m sure it’s delicious, as well as the green peas and mashed potatoes.”
They ate for several minutes in silence. “I know we haven’t seen much of each other since the reunion- Oliver began.”
Lois interrupted him. “Clark said that you’d been injured by Duncan?”
Oliver brushed it off. “It was nothing. I’m fine.”
“You were wearing a sling.”
“Just a pulled shoulder muscle. That’s all. So, what about you? How’s the reporting coming? Any new stories?”
“I may have a lead on the Green Arrow. A green arrow was found at the Metropolis bank just after it was robbed last night. They caught two of the thieves, but he escaped.”
“Him again. I’m surprised you’re not out looking for clues.”
“I already have one.” Lois reached into her purse and pulled out a small arrow.
“Where did you get that?” Oliver asked, trying to keep a blank face.
“I can’t reveal my sources, but I am going to find out who this Green Arrow is.”
"Can I see it? Perhaps I can help you. I can have my people try and trace it."
Lois handed him the arrow. "That would be great."
Oliver inspected the arrow for a moment. "What do you plan to do once you find this guy?" Oliver asked, dropping the arrow into his pocket.
“I’ll have him arrested.”
What makes you think that he had anything to do with that robbery? Maybe he was trying to stop it?”
“If that was the case then why did he leave? Besides he’s stolen before, at the fundraiser.”
“That was different.”
“What makes you such an expert on the Green Arrow?” You weren’t even around when he showed up. You and Clark always seem to miss the excitement.”
“We’re just lucky, I guess. Care to dance?” Oliver changed the subject.
“There’s no music.” Lois protested.
Oliver pressed a button on a remote to a CD player. An instrumental started playing. “How about now?” He held out his hand.
“You think of everything.” Lois said, impressed. Lois took his hand and they danced close together. Oliver was a good dancer; no doubt he’d had a lot of practice. Once again Lois found herself wondering about the previous women in his life and, surprisingly, she felt a little jealous. ‘This is silly’, she thought. ‘He’s with me now.’ She looked up to find that Oliver was looking at her intently, rather, he was looking at her mouth intently. He looked even more handsome in the moonlight. Their eyes locked. Slowly he lowered his head and kissed her. A gentle, sweet kiss. Lois melted. She couldn’t help it. She was falling for him. Then he pulled away.
“It’s late. I should get you home.” Oliver said, regretfully.
Lois was disappointed, but she knew he was right. She needed to be up early to finish some things for Martha. They went back downstairs to his apartment.
Oliver grabbed his keys just as his cell phone rang. “I’m sorry, Lois,” he apologized. “I need to take this call. Business. I’ll have my limo drive you home.” He kissed her on the cheek.
“I had a nice time, Ollie. Thanks.”
“I did, too. And I still owe you dessert." He paused and grinned. “Devil’s food cake.”
“I’ll hold you to it. Goodnight, Ollie.”
“Goodnight, Lois.” He watched her until the doors on the elevator shut.
“Did you get it?” He asked the caller.
“Sure thing, Mr. Queen. I have the item you requested.”
“Bring it to me.” Oliver hung up the phone.
Ten minutes later Oliver held the delivered package in his hands. He was still wearing the pants from the tux, but he had removed his shirt. The arrow wound on his shoulder was still red and sore. He opened the package and removed a vial of liquid and a syringe. He filled the syringe and then injected the contents into his arm. Moments later there was no sign of the wound. It had healed itself. Oliver smiled. He picked up the tux jacket that he had thrown across the bed and reached into the pocket. He pulled out the arrow that Lois had given him. He looked at it thoughtfully for a moment before he opened the desk drawer and dropped it in along with the vial and syringe. Then he turned the lock.

Short summary: Oliver reflects on leaving Lois

Oliver: Reflections, Regrets

Oliver Queen sat slumped in a chair in his hotel suite, deep in thought. He knew he should be concentrating on the mission, instead, his thoughts kept straying back to Smallville, back to Lois. He closed his eyes and he could see her face, the curve of her cheek, her smile. He ached to hold her in his arms again, to run his fingers through her hair, to hear her laugh, and to kiss her lips. She haunted his dreams.

“Oliver, you were a fool to let her go,” he chided himself.

It had been nearly three days since they had said good-bye. He could still feel the touch of her lips as she kissed him for the last time, still see the hurt in her eyes. He would have given anything not to have caused her pain.

He pulled two snapshots out of his wallet. Chloe had taken the photos of him and Lois at Christmas. He stared at the picture of himself and Lois standing by the huge Christmas tree in his penthouse. They stood, arms around each other, their faces touching cheek to cheek, smiling widely. The other photo was of them kissing under the mistletoe. He smiled at the memory.

Next he pulled out a folded up newspaper clipping. It was the first article Lois had published on the “Green Arrow Bandit.” He still winced at the “bandit” part, but he was thankful it had been dropped. Green Arrow. He liked the moniker Lois had come up with for his green leather clad, vigilante, alter ego. It fit. He read through the article again. Aside from the fact that he was her subject, he was impressed with her writing. It showed great promise. He had no doubts that she would make a great reporter someday, perhaps even for the Daily Planet. Her talent was being wasted at The Inquisitor. He stared at the sketch of the Green Arrow. An amused grin tugged at his lips as he recalled Lois’ dislike for and tenacity to expose the Green Arrow. Lois had finally figured out his secret.

“I’m sorry, Lois.” He hated lying to her. He just couldn’t allow her to know the truth about him. It wasn’t a matter of trust. He knew that she would have kept his secret. He knew she loved him. He loved her, and that was why he had Clark help him keep his identity from Lois. To protect her. She’d already been kidnapped and tortured once when his enemies thought she knew who he was. If anything should happen to her….If he couldn’t save her in time…. He pushed the fears out of his mind.

He also knew that Lex wouldn’t hesitate to torture Lois if he thought it would lead him to the Green Arrow. If Lex ever laid a hand on her…Oliver clenched his fist. He wasn’t going to ever let that happen.

He laughed at the irony. Lex hated the Green Arrow now about as much as he hated Oliver. And he doesn’t know we are one and the same.
No. Lois could never know the truth about him. He loved her too much to put her life at risk, to burden her with the dangerous life that he had chosen, as much as it tore at his heart. He could never have left her unprotected. Clark would look out for her.

Oliver ran a hand through his hair and sighed. When he had gone to Smallville looking for people of abilities to join his team, he had never expected to find love, but he had. His relationship with Lois played like a video through his mind, from their first meeting at the Kent’s farm, to when she walked away after he told her he was leaving Smallville. She couldn’t know how much it hurt him to have to leave her.

The chorus of a Rascal Flatts song echoed in his brain:
What hurts the most, was being so close
and having so much to say, and watching you walk away
and never knowing, what could have been
and not seeing that loving you is what I was trying to do.

The beep from his cell phone interrupted his thoughts. He glanced at the ID. Bart.

“Report?”

“We’ve located another one of Lex’s Project 33.1 facilities.” Bart informed him.

“Great! We’ll meet at the rendezvous point in ten minutes.”

“Ten!” Bart protested. “I can be there in less than five.”

“Ok, Speedy. I’ll see you when I get there.”

Duty called. Oliver put the photos and the clipping back into his wallet. He would never forget Lois Lane. Perhaps some day their paths would cross again. He only hoped she could forgive him. The life of a superhero was a lonely one.
Time to save the world.

I haven't actually started yet but i will be *fingers crossed* typing up some of my handwritten Clois fics pretty soon. I'll most likely post them on Fan Fiction so i'll post the links when i do it. They will be light and fluffy and won't delve into too much of the "powers and destiny" side of things.
