The mother was the extra-terrestrial one. And he ended up with the rapid aging. Something about his body storing the energy somewhere and it caused the growthspurt. The last time it happened, there was too much energy (or something like that). I didn't really follow the story.

Main storyline ~ It was alright. Different. The father dying was a shock. What is the difference if he was alive or dead? It's a bone marrow.

Clark ~ He was practically the same as always, but when he held Evan, it was adorable.

Clark/Lana ~ Not as bad as I thought it would be. No real romance in the ep. Boring.

Chloe ~ The "speedy" line was great. The writers don't give her enough credit..

Lionel/Genevive ~ Very brilliant. He actually outsmarted her. I kept waiting for her to order him to kill Lana...

Lex ~ Enjoyable scenes. I wonder what he'll do with the results..

Overall, an alright episode. Completely unimportant....

I think you guys are too harsh on this season hey. I liked this episode. Especially the Clana moments throughout this ep. But, it was a sad episode overall.

I'm not harsh, .. it's just how I see things. I just hope WB don't wrap up the series at the end of Season 5. There's so much mre to tell. Clark travelling the world, Atlantis (ok, that part might be dumb ...), The city in the bottle, general Zod, you name it ...

O yeah, I've said it on other boards / forums (sry, I'm Dutch, is this the correct word?) but I still think Clark's 'father' in the cave is a fake, and it's actually General Zod. The Jor-El from the comics was a loving father, not the "you shall rule this world, Kal-El" dude. At least, unless WB are going in a whole other direction with the series. Besides, Chloe wasn't in the comics either and Clark was never introduced to Lois before he got to Metropolis, if I remember correct.
