I think I can say this line and it's not spoiling since I sort of mentioned it during Season 1 to Sarah so it's not that spoilerly... but I think probably Pete secretly probably loves Chloe the most but sadly she never noticed it.
However, it shows how much he cares about her because he never pushed his feelings on to her which I appreciate it.

It's sort of the reasons why I sort of didn't like Chloe/Clark during Season 1 and a bit of Season 2 because she'd make Clark feel guilty for not having those feelings for her. However, Pete is just accepting being Chloe friend, and you gotta respect that a bit.

Yeah.
I'm sort of like Pete in that way. I was in love with a BFF and never said nothing at all. I think it's part of why I don't relate with Chloe. Because I don't push my feelings into anyone, it's my fault if I didn't want to be honest.

I don't regret it though because I moved on and never really looked back.

So, I think I take more of the Pete approach over the Chloe one ALTHOUGH I do believe in seizing the moment. I feel if your love is hurting you to the extent of being jealous and lashing out than it's be to be honest with your feelings.

So, in a way Smallville showed many sides of a crush.
With Clark/Lana, Clark/Chloe, and Pete/Chloe... Clark/Lana had it the easiest because they both were in love with each other. lol

I am going to miss Pete/Chloe scenes although I wish they would have shared a lot more.
