no problem.

Now that the ep has aired, i'll repost my thoughts on the Lex/Lana without the spoiler tags!

I thought it played out pretty well, which just goes to show that even when they screw our couple, the chemistry is still undeniable. The part where he tells her to kill him and she can't do it was very heartbreaking. For a minute I felt a bit of the old Lana come back, the one that will always love Lex no matter what.

I was dreading their first scene, and although there are parts I definitely didn't like (like Lex saying sorry way too much, although I guess that just shows how much he loves her), I thought it was better than what I was expecting.

Thanks for the new thread.
Oh new opening is pretty.

Well that went much better than I expected first scene would go.

But am I the only one who thought Lex was playing her?

Not the only one, some Lexana shippers have been talking about maybe it was all a con because Lex did seem to have a different expression when re-listening to the recording

Really it seems like, instead of calling Lana brilliant, it was more making Lex incompetent. Like he wouldn't have had that clone safely under lock and key!

Exactly!
I must admit, even after watching the episode, the whole clone thing isn't very clear.
I will have to rewatch later today.

And it seems I'm copy/pasting my episode review on all threads today, I might as well here too. This is how I saw it:
Lex managed to find Lana. Please tell me that the hideous wig from last week was one of the 'crumbs' she left him to notice her and find her?
Oh Lana...you were kinda cool in this episode.
Also a bit stupid to think you can outplay a Luthor. I'll say it right away - he played her! And he did it masterfully!
On the way to China he kept listening to the tape of their last conversation, the one where she orchestrated everything to frame him later on. Remorse? Could be. But I call a plan in the making. He was trying to find her weakness. She outsmarted him once, and if she got over-confident after that that's the best thing to use.
I think he figured out what she's about to do, and did exact opposite of how she expected him to act. It threw her off her game, and he sold her 'I'm sorry, you can come back, you'll be safe' story.
Now let her return, let things cool down and everyone start to feel safe, and then - let Lex make his move.

As for Lana, she was OK in this episode.
Only, if the clone was dead, what exactly was the purpose of the clone? How did he plan to bring it to life?
And how did Lana found out about it? And got her hands on it and get it out undetected?
Not to mention the whole I'm going to blew up my car with a clone in it, it's so easy to do, as easy as finding explosives and making the bomb!
Someone better be helping her.

I'm hoping the clone will be addressed more later this season, along with a decent explanation for the fake baby plot Maybe the two are connected?

The thought of Lana sneaking out of the labs with the clone is bizarre. Lex should have had so much security there to make sure that Lana never found it in the first place, let alone Lana managing to sneak out with a body bag!

I was thinking about that. Faking the pregnancy would get him access to Lana, and they could have drawn her blood and do all sorts of tests they needed, and she wouldn't have suspected.

And when exactly did she steal the clone? Was it before or after she went to see Lex for the last time?
They made one big mess yet again.

Right, Lex semed to be planning some unnormal pregnant in Trespass with his discuussion with the Doctor, and nightmare in Promise looked like a science experiment gone wrong. So maybe he originally grew the clone inside Lana or something, and it was removed during the "miscarriage"?

That's still way creepy But anything's better than Lex just faking a pregnancy to get Lana's hand in marriage

And I'll take creepy over incompetent any day.
Because it's really really hard to imagine this Lex Luthor as a criminal mastermind some day.

I had fun watching the episode!

The director was the director of Static!

The ratings were not that great: 2.9/5.

Overnight ratings from PIFeedback:

"Also airing in the 8 p.m. hour was Fox’s Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (Viewers: #3, 8.53 million; A18-49: #4, 2.3/ 7), which is a vast improvement over fall 2006 occupants ‘Til Death and Happy Hour, and the CW’s Smallville (Viewers: #5, 4.56 million; A18-49: #5, 1.8/ 5). With the CW’s recently introduced Reaper and Gossip Girl in search of an audience, it looks like there could be life for the veteran Smallville past this season."

They dropped, as expected, but are still great.

Last week SV was the highest rated show CW had.
I think Gossip Girl for example had around 2.8-2.9 million viewers this week. So I'd guess they are happy with SV.

Wasn't Lana's apartment purple in Kara?
