^^ Great gif! I didn't ship these two but really loved their dynamic and I would have rode the ship if it had continued canon when Tess was redeeming herself in s10.

she was too dark for him. I was fine with the way they were. If they got together in s10 when she was truly headed for redemption then I would have been fine with them as a couple. But I didn't need it to happen

If you haven't noticed I don't like dark characters with light characters unless the dark is already headed towards redemption

I was in the minority from early on with the character of Tess (even without Oliver) in not really seeing her as particularly dark. I think she was SURROUNDED by darkness, but the darkness that came with the job she took on when she moved to Smallville, but I don't think she was ever in her of herself, inherently dark.

In fact I always understood her motive (even the SV writers were sleeping on the job that day and gave none of the characters any motive for doing anything a particular week), somehow, I understood why Tess was doing whatever she was doing more so than most "villains". People would rant on some forum, "OMG! She kidnapped Lois and was willing to kill her!" And I was like, "No, she kidnapped Lois because she was trying desperately to get the one image that Lois had buried in her memory from the three weeks she spent in the future that would help Tess keep Zod and his cronies from taking over the planet. She was trying desperately to find a way to stay out of Lois's brain and just pull up an image out of respect, and because it would be dangerous to sync herself to Lois. Only when that didn't work did Tess sync herself up to Lois and risk her life as well. It was Chloe who was far more willing to keep Clark and Lois synced up together for a greater period of time, endangering both of their lives by keeping them synced up for so long. Chloe took a much greater risk for both of their lives. Don't you see?" LOL. So somehow, I always kind of got the motive of what Tess was doing.

As Cassidy says here, "I know that might be difficult because she likes to kick people to death and she likes to shoot a lot of things, but I think she's good." LOL. Cassidy delivers that line hilariously, BTW. She is so cute.

I always felt like it was more the darkness around Tess that was consuming her rather than that it was coming from her. She was definitely power hungry, and powerful, but powerful and dark are different. Clark, Lois, and Oliver are all powerful people too, which is why she likes them and liked being around all of them in season 10.

But in regards to her relationship Oliver, you also have to think about what it would be like to move to a place where the only person you know is your ex-boyfriend. The only familiar face is Oliver, the only person who knows you, who you have any rapport with, any memories you share, any jokes in common, is the one person you also still want to reach out and punch, and reach out and hold, and that's got to drive you a little crazy.

So I think she puts on a little bit of an extra front with him to keep him at bay as best she can because every time she lets her guard, things get really charged between them, and she doesn't really want him to know how much of an effect he still has on her. No ex-girlfriend would! It would be so annoying! lol! Especially since Oliver is so full of himself anyway, god! But it's also what makes them so much fun to watch. He has fun teasing her, and pushing her, and playing with her. I mean who else breaks into his ex-girlfriend's house and climbs into her bed naked? LOL.

eh what she did with the suicide squad..straight up murdering them in s8 and then letting a bunch of kryptonians out to supposedly save the world and continuing down that path after she saw that they took over and put people in camps...and starved and tortured them..puts her in a pretty dark category on my book.

Is the Suicide Squad the meteor freaks in Injustice that broke into house when they found out she killed Eve and tried to kill her? I don’t recall any camps with starvation that she necessarily was in charge of, I just recall the whole “faux Black Creek rescue” project. But even that I understood her motivation for and felt stunningly no sympathy for those meteor freaks. I instead totally cheered for Tess as she took the torture as they electrocuted her. I remember having total respect for her and none for them, even if she’d done everything that they’d said. This was a woman who was willing to do anything it took, including take the consequences of her actions. I absolutely adored her in that scene! lol.

I am talking about the people she implanted bombs in and set them off when they didn't do what she wanted. She also tried to murder that engineer..shot him. She also tried to kill Lana. She also killed that guy that tried to poison her...i am sure there is more I am forgetting

She didn't lead the concentration camps but she was trying to make that future happen....

This is slightly off topic for a Tess/Oliver thread, but I guess I’ll just say so that it doesn’t sound like an argument that for me, I completely understood the rational and even heart behind why Tess did all of those things. *Especially* her rational for shooting Lana! Holy cow, in that scenario, I would’ve shot Lana! You don’t want someone like that putting on a super-suit! From Tess’s perspective, Lana had broken into her house, stolen the data for the Prometheus project, had a mole put on Tess’s staff to spy on her for months to gather information all so she could be the one to get the super-suit instead of Lex?! From Tess’s perspective in that moment, with the information Tess had, Lex and Lana were both nuts! I thought Tess was phenomenal in that scene. But that’s okay, I’m used to it.

But anyway, back to Tess and Oliver. ❤️

Rational or not....murder in cold blood is murder..same with attempted murder. Those people weren't even trying to kill her or attempting to kill her.. Lana is the only one i might give a slight pass. Too dark for Oliver until her walk towards the light in s10. At least when Oliver killed Lex he was attempting to kill many people...that was far more like self defense than any of Tess's murders.

Joining Zod when she knew he was trying to rule the world with a stiff hand and torturing people also not cool for me. Nope not even close
