While I'll miss Laura as the role of Astra/Alura, I am more than thrilled that they got Erica to take up the role. I can't wait to see what she brings!

I feel the same way. I really liked Laura and thought she did a great job, but I'm sure Erica will too.

Well, the show does film in Vancouver now.

Makes sense to hire an actress who lives and works there.

I'm never really the biggest fan of recast.

So, this will be interesting... however, getting Erica in as a recast is a remarkable replacement.

I don't usually like recasts either, but I guess they thought she's an important character and a recast was necessary

I agree. I'm not overly thrilled only because I believe it's actually a little bit degrading for Erica, and she's SO fantastic. To go from Lois Lane to the mother of Kara Kent when I don't think Erica should be anything less than Lois Lane for another 15 years or so kinda bugs me.

Anyway, I love Erica so much and would be happy to be added onto her fan list.
