Harry Potter - What parts of POA book, do you think won't appear in the movie version?

I just finish reading the third Harry Potter and I have seen the trailer of the upcoming movie. I have read on the imdb.com website, that Oliver and Cho won't be in this movie, so I have been wondering what else they have cut from the book.

What are some characters, chapters, or plots that won't appear in the movie version of POA?

I heard that the scene where Hermione slaps Draco is altered a bit, like they still have Draco insult Hagrid, but Hermione doesn't slap him, she just sort of pulls her wand on him.

I really wanted to see that slap! Hopefully that'll only have been a false rumor.

Apparantly there won't be the R/H Hug in it. However, I will see it anyway. Sirius and Remus are in it so that should make up for it. I really don't care about anything involving Draco, so as far as I am concerned his character can be deleted.

I just hope that they won't cut any Sirius or Lupin scenes. And I really hope the Shrieking Shack scene stays the way it's in the book.
Too bad that Oliver Wood won't be in this movie. I wonder how they'll show quidditch without him?

if Draco wouldnt be in the books anymore that would really damage the books.... people might hate him... but he's essential *nods* very essential..

anyway... lot of Quidditch will probably not be in it meh... no Wood [img]smilies/pout.gif[/img]
and no Hug... that is really something i really hate. i'm done ranting about it thought but i still feel kinda betrayed thats its not in there. and i think the pumpkin paths thing where Harry and Hermione are saving Buckbeak and stuff will probably be shortened.
I desperatly hope they keep the part where Draco gets slashed by Buckbeak in it cause its kinda essential.

I guess I'm really hoping they don't cut the scenes with Harry and Lupin...those are my favorite parts of the book...
I don't want them to, but I think they will alter the Shrieking Shack scene...maybe cut it down somehow.. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

I'm sorry Oliver and Cho won't be in this movie... I have read that PoA is shorter than the previous movies but it didn't affect the action adversely. I hope they won't cut the Ron/Hermione hug!

Anyway, the Quidditch scenes would have to be cut down or out. Without Wood, it almost seems pointless to even show them. And the Quidditch scenes were important, one because it was the first time we ever see Harry lose the Snitch, he also sees the Grim, the dementors run onto the field...I just feel like cutting out that Quidditch scene wouldn't be good to the overall plot. It kind of gives you the sense that something's up with the Grim and Harry.

As for the Shrieking Shack, that needs to stay the same. We need all of that because it was how she wrote it. I don't want them to destroy my favorite book, which makes me a bit anxious about watching it.

The part that I think may not be in POA that should be is when Ron stands up to Snape in class for yelling at Hermione. I thought that was a fantastic part of the book, showing how much Ron cares for her, even if he was mad at her about Crookshanks.

Well, seeing that they book is pretty long, it's obvious that they will have to cut some parts or maybe even shorten others.

I agree the Shreiking Shack MUST stay exactly the same- or I will cry...

That quidditch match should be in there- because of the Dementors....and Wood would need to be there.... :/

Cho isn't really crucial till GoF, I can see why they cut her

I think Dursleys time as always should be shortened.....

As long as they keep ALL the Sirius and Lupin stuff- I'll be pretty happy overall

I agree. And that is when Harry loses his Nimbus, so then he has a reason to get the Firebolt from Sirius...I really hope they at least have the Quidditch match where Harry falls..
I wonder how Cuaron did the Shrieking shack scene..all that talking might get a little tedious, which I why I am thinking they may have cut it down a bit [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]
I guess I'm really hoping they didn't take out the emotion stuff and background info we got in the third book...that stuff is what makes PoA my favorite..
