Rescuing you guys from the second page.

I loved how she was the only one who didn't have to be told who we was. That, in itself, speaks volumes.
That was a wonderful moment - I read it and "awwed" to myself.

Yikes, THANK YOU, Cat! I've been neglecting this thread, how bad. Maybe it's because I haven't finished DH yet have such a lousy memory

Anyways, the latest reasons you guys said, put together, so Jess can add them to the opening:

41. Because he felt a rush of affection for her... AGAIN.
42. Because he could never forget about her.
43. Because he was the first to realize she wasn't there.
44. Because he's been in her room.
45. Because she didn't realize it would be so noisy! (I effing love this! )
46. Because she said it all for him
47. Because she can see right through him in every way

Am I missing any? They're all great, by the way

You haven't? Whoa. I bought it on the Saturday afternoon, started reading it that evening and had it finished by early evening on the Sunday. In the case of HBP I took a a good 4 days or so to finish it, had to keep taking breaks from it as I just couldn't get in to it.

Technically, I did But when I started reading the battle in Hogwarts chapter, I read everything too fast until I was done, and I didn't act out any of the scenes nor I read them out loud with my fake British accent. So yeah, I don't feel like it counts

I've been meaning to read the last chapter properly for quite a while, but I just can't bring myself too. Every time I remember the crapilogue, I feel absolutely no interest, even though there's a perfectly fine book before those pages full of crap

Harry Potter is just totally a series that needs to be acted out.

(My friend and I are conceiving a fanfic sequel that's made me feel much better about dealing with the epilogue as reality. I am, in fact, starting to believe in my own story as "fact" in the HP future. )

I'm thinking future thread title with that one to go along with the dirtiness of the current one!

SnuggleGLOMPS all Visionaries and Loonies. Sorry, I've not written in a while. The three-day weekend wore me out.

Well, technically I read/finished it too. However, the version I read was the Carpetbook from the net the week before DH was released. I read it fast and in complete denial that it was real because I hoping it was a fake.

Now that it is not a fake, I have to reread it. I am reading it chapter-by-chapter with my family. So, I'm no where near finished.

Thankfully, our lovely Lucy put all of Luna's and H/L's scenes on her LJ so I have a place a reference.

I, personally, leave off the Epilogue, as if it was never written. It is so disjointed from the rest of the text that I have no problem pretending it doesn't exist.

For me, DH ends on page 749.

There are those who believe it is to height of arrogance to pick and chose what is canon and what isn't for myself. Then, so be it... I am Arrogant.

H/L faired better in DH than the other canon ship for Harry.

And Luna, by far, got the best treatment of any younger female character.

Cris, I think that's an absolutely BRILLIANT title. We should definitely use it

Good lord, I still remember the feeling I had when it was confirmed that the carpetbook was real. I never read it, but I did read a bit of the epilogue, so you can imagine how utterly disgusted and incredibly amused I was I kept laughing at my friend's who thought it was impossible and saying "honey, did you miss HBP? JK's awesome, but she writes ____ too"

Aw, that's sweet Make sure to emphasize the H/L moments

Absolutely And for that, I'll be forever thankful to JK. Luna is one of my favorite characters of all my fandoms, and the fact that she remained as great as she's always been makes me extremely happy And yes, H/L was incredible. JK continued to amanzingly develop their friendship and gave us more than enough reasons to stay the hell away from her canon pairing

Coming to think of it, we really don't have too much to complain. Our ship continues to sail beautifully

Can't argue with that. Ron/Ginny = MAJOR guilt pleasure

But I see you've been doing your job, adding all the reasons to the opening. Good girl!
