When Harry Potter first met Luna Lovegood in “The Order of the Phoenix,” he silently wished that the "distinctly dotty" girl with the wand behind her ear would not sit near him on the train to Hogwarts. From the start Harry did not immediately take to the girl whom classmates had deemed "loony". Their's seemed to be an uneasy acquaintance in the beginning. But during the year Luna proved herself to be a different kind of friend than he had ever had, one that Harry desperately needed, even if he did not realize it.
Harry had "never met anyone like her" before, able to speak "uncomfortable truths", yet seemingly ensconced in her own mystical world, one he was unable to see. Through her whimsy and wild flights of fancy, she brought laughter, hope, and light into his dark existence. She let it be known that Harry was not crazy, and that she too could see the thestrals. Luna was the first of Harrys classmates to profess belief in the truth of his story that Lord Voldemort was indeed back. Through her bold and fearless action she began to slowly turn the tide of doubt and suspicion against him. When her father published the tale of his ordeal in "The Quibbler" she was able to give Harry back his credibility within the wizarding world .
She continued to prove her importance in Harry's life by fighting bravely alongside him and his friends during the battle at the Department of Mysteries. With nothing but pure motives behind her, she risked her life to help Harry, simply because it was the right thing to do.
After the tragic death of Harry's beloved Godfather Sirius, he found that Luna was the only person he felt comfortable opening up to. She helped to ease his pain and despair by relating the untimely death of her own mother. She seemed to fill the spiritual void in his life, tantalizing him with the prospect that our loved ones never truly leave us, they are just waiting for us behind the veil.
With Luna, Harry feels comfortable and at ease. He does not have to worry about being judged or called strange, as both know the pain of being outcasts. Through Luna he is able to feel something other than sadness and grief, thinking of someone other than himself for the first time during the year. He feels pity for those who mistreat Luna, and is amazed at the calmness she has about her situation, the antithesis of Harry and all of his rage. At the end of "The Order of the Phoenix," Harry and Luna cement their bond though shared tragedies and a mutual understanding of one another.
This friendship continues on into the next installment, "The Half-Blood Prince" where she continues to make him laugh and feel at ease while accompanying him to Slughorn's party. Together, with Harry's braveness and loyalty, and Luna's spirituality and selflessness, they make one complete soul. They are ying and yang. But what the future has in store for them is unclear, simply friendship or perhaps true love? Regardless of the outcome we will be left with two amazing characters with a deep connection that moves and inspires us all.

21. Because Luna doesn't need an excuse to use that Lion hat more often, but would be great if there was a special reason for it.
22. Because Luna needs someone who doesn't think she's an idiot and who's willing to stick up for her.

There just had to be a poem
To celebrate all we’d done.
For 25 threads, we’ve been together
There have been a lot of laughs
So many memories we’ve created
So let’s take a quick look back.

Once upon a time
When the Visionary threads were first started
There were four posters called the Fantastic Four
Whose love of H/L got this glorious ship started.
Gabi, Steph, Ana, and Sam
What posting whores they were!
All at the same time they would fill the threads
Making the pages pass in a blur.

Ana had teh gift of art
Her banners made us *squee*
She also had the gift of writing
Remember when Harry and Luna were stuck in that tree?
The Princess of Randomness, as she was also known
Was a title well deserved
You could always count on Ana
To be funny and absurd.

Dear Gabi was teh Queen of Quotes
For whatever subject, she could always find
The quote that it related to
She really was divine!
Oh, Gabi, how we love her
She made every day so fun
She was a great friend to us all
We all miss her when she’s gone.

Now Sam had teh gift for catching up
She did this with long posts
She also became known as the poem bitch,
Although why is still unknown.
One day she got some exciting news
That really made her *squee*
She was to be the board’s new mod
And everyone shared in her glee.

Now Steph had teh gift for many things
She could take an idea and give it wings
Whether dirty plot bunnies or catchy thread titles
She kept us laughing with a devilish smile.

And then there’s Jess who proudly owns

We’re all glad when she’s around.

There is something else we’re thankful for

Now we’ll be smiling evermore.

Amanda was the one to start the campaign
On the UC thread
To get us threads of our very own
So the Visionaries would have a home.
She was also the one to name us
And for that we are quite grateful
For without her we would be
The Quibblers or Beyonders.

There is a Visionary pair
That stand out from the rest
Ana and Gabi could take up pages
Just between the two of them - no jest!
Always arguing over who was pervier
Or who had corrupted the other
Always having the most fun
Whenever they were together.

Now, among the Visionaries, there are two special girls
Evanna and Rachel, they’re named
And while one came first and the other will last,
We love them both the same.

The Visionaries share a special connection
That nobody can deny
All the “coincidences” could make your head spin
You can’t understand it, so don’t even try.

Then came a gift beyond our wildest dreams
“Dan is a Visionary!” we all joyfully screamed
How excited we were
How we *squeed* with such passion
When we heard Daniel say
He wanted H/L to happen!

Vicky was the one who made for us
Another lovely gift
A magazine interview of our couple
Too lovely to forget
It had manips and quotes
To make our heart melt
It really was divine.
Our couple at their cutest
It really made us sigh.

And then there was the group fic
A fabulous writing idea
Each would take turns to write a chapter
Harry and Luna could go anywhere!
It’s had a rocky history
The fic’s still incomplete
That dreaded “work in progress”
That we must defeat!

If you’re looking for a plot bunny
You’ve come to the right thread.
It’s practically a breeding ground
The ideas just never end!

One plot bunny that comes to mind
Is one we had fun with for quite a long time
It involved Harry and Luna and, oh my, a porn

It took us by surprise!

Out of our great need to know

And then there were the mysterious stars
Oh, the confusion they caused
We turned 21, we had to have fun
We got star-shaped, one and all.

I know!!! Can you imagine if we get a glimpse of the hand holding scene? Especially if they had those calls like "blah, blah..." *random scene* "blah, blah..." *another random scene* - and it one of the blah blahs was something like love or friendship and the random scene was a Harry and Luna scene!

Okay, chill. We might get NOTHING.

But I'm hoping we'll get something. Even if there's no H/L, it's still the new trailer, so it's a win-win
