Oh, and I just realized that I hate smut. I was reading a perfectly good fic, and then the author threw in some extremly smutty smut, and I just couldn't keep on reading. I think that extreme smut is just too OOC for these books.
I totally agree with you even though I'm pretty sure the majority of HP fans are into dirty fanfic. Not that there's anything wrong with that - it just seems odd for me to be reading that when it comes to HP. I think it's because they were 11 at the start of the series.

Now kissing and making out - awesome! So are events leading up to dirty scenes as well as morning afters. The descriptions of it just...bother me for some reason. (maybe it's my conservative upbringing? )

Although I did seem to have one exception to this. I really wished After the End had smut in it sometimes.

And ooh I wish book 6 was coming out for the holidays. But PoA probably will instead.

Yeah, and maybe it has something to do with the fact that to me Ron and Hermione always look like Rupert and Emma. And picturing Rupert and Emma doing all that stuff... Nope. They're kids!
I agree, fluff is great. Smut isn't. Well, to me.

Ahhh sorry, I was talking about the DVD!
The book will probably be out in like 354325425 years, or something
(or before the OotP movie)

Which is set for 2007? I believe.. so 2006... I'm hoping. 2 years is.. well not bad considering we get GoF in a year and some odd months.

Shirley, my cousin is a Pharmacy major.. well she's not my cousin yet.. but she will be in September.. well in law, but I lover her lots. She's in pharmacutical school now. They're in high demand those pharmacists, or so I've heard

behrfehr, Really? I loved After the End BECAUSE it left out all the smuttiness. It was beautiful. But hey don't get me wrong, I like smut on occasion, but for some reason not with HP (now Spike and Buffy? - Bring it on!). They're just too young and inexperienced to really make any smut scenes believeable.

I agree. I mean, I can read the smut, and it's okay, sometimes. But I feel so weird when I read HP smut. Like I'm some middle aged man living in my moms basement obsessed with Harry Potter and Magic the gathering. It's just weird...but I'm all for it sometimes. Now fluff, I can't stand. I get so embarassed reading fluff.

Hmm...I don't know. I really just don't know where I stand on this, but reading just that part is rather interesting. It could almost seem at the end that Hermione is trying to hide something, by running to hug him (so much so that it almost knocks him over) and then overcompensating by announcing his visit loudly to Ron (they are in the same room, afterall). ...Then again, I'm not dismissing the fact that, of course, both Ron & Hermione would be happy to see him safe and sound and it would be perfectly reasonable for Hermione to act that way normally, not just to cover up something. I don't know, I just find that part pretty interesting. Any thoughts?

Well, I didn't pick up on anything when I was reading the book but now that I've seen the movie, I'm questioning a whole bunch of stuff that might be turned into shippy scenes just for the sake of keeping up the pace and how the filmmakers are pushing it. This might be one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if they play this scene with lots of tension. I don't think they were messing around before Harry came in but they might have been talking intimately or something. Something that would provoke Hermione to blush and become so annimated as Harry enters. Like you said, overcompensating for something.

It would be kinda funny if we saw that on screen because then it would leave the audience guessing what they might have been doing. Like we're doing here.

Well, I doubt they were doing anything to bad, probably talking intimatly, but I'm guessing if the movies are going the way they are going they might just play it out that Hermione and Ron weren't doing something "friendly".

When I first read it, I thought that maybe it was Hermione trying to cover something up. Harry has been in trouble before, and I've never seen her act "that" way. The loud tone of her voice.. I can picture it really clearly in my head actually. And it is a bit off.

There are just so many conspiracies of them actually being together in OotP and there are so many things to support it. The constant mentioning of them being "alone" together.. Harry mentions it numorous amount of times. And while Harry isn't the nararator, a lot of things are spilled through Harry, and we all know J.K. Rowling lives for the subtle details. Also the little part where he demanded Harry to tell him what Hermione saw in Krum..he was mad she was still seeing him. Which could kind of throw off the suspicion..maybe they both know they like eachother but Hermione is still friends with Viktor so Ron's mad? There's a lot of stuff pointing to them being in secret.. but there's also a lot of evidence that says they're not.

I believe with all my heart that Hermione and Ron were together in OoTP, I really think everything's pointing towards that..Or maybe it's just my sidekick nerve kicking in..lol

Hmmm. Even as a raging sidekick I don't believe they are "together" in OotP. I've heard all the conspiracies and I still think they are at the "just friends but wanting more" stage.

Well this is what
Smut means:

A particle of dirt.
A smudge made by soot, smoke, or dirt.

Obscenity in speech or writing.
Pornography.

So you get the picture
