Harry couldn't have done anything without the other five. They all have characteristics that when put together in a group complement the others and make it all work and come together.

Harry is determined and steadfast in what he believes is right and wrong.
Ron has a cunning strategic mind and bucket loads of good humor.
Hermione has book smarts and keeps her cool under pressure.
Ginny has a passionate and fiery nature that goes well with her powerful magical skills.
Neville is brave and loyal, he would willingly lay down his life for anyone else in the group.
Luna has wisdom beyond her years and unique way of seeing the world around her.

They formed together to fight Lord Voldemort in the Department of Mysteries, and stayed together to defend Hogwarts and defeat the powers of evil in the following years. Together they saved the world.

I had to laugh while listening to a recent pottercast. John (one of the commentators) said he 'loved the sextet in OotP' and the other people didn't know what he was talking about. They thought he just said something guttery.

I thought everyone knew about the sextet.

Well, I suppose I didn't call it the DA thread because Fred and George and Cho and the Patil Twins and Seamus and all the others didn't go to the DoM, just this six did, and even though all those others did help with the overthrow of Voldie and the Death Eaters, it was this six that really did a lot, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were out hunting Horcruxes, and Neville, Ginny, and Luna were leading the DA and the rebellion of the students at Hogwarts, well until they had to go into hiding and until Luna was kidnapped. But yeah, I think I meant this thread specifically as a tribute to the six.

What a great idea for a thread! We know that Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny all stayed together after finishing school, but I always believed that Neville and Luna also stayed close friends with those four. They all kicked butt in the last three books and each will go down in history as major contributors in the fight against Voldemort.

I'm hoping to see more sextet action in the next two movies. In fact I think it would be so awesome to see Neville, Ginny and Luna at Hogwarts in the "Deathly Hallows" movie. Instead of hearing about them stealing the sword we actually see them do it. They could be small little scenes interspersed with the Trio stuff. It probably won't happen, but I think it'd be cool.

Yeah I too think it would be really cool to see the stuff with Neville, Ginny and Luna when they were at Hogwarts. I would love to see them attempting to steal the sword, and also when Harry is looking at Ginny's dot on the map, it would be cool to see Ginny at those moments on screen too, not just the dot. I doubt they will do that, but it would be nice to have a little break from non stop trio action, I mean nothing against the trio. Lol. Just something a little different to break it all up I think.

We know that Neville and Harry and Ginny stayed friends, as Neville knew the Potter children well, and that he came round for dinner often, I would assume it was the same thing with Luna.

I mean, after what all these six had been through together, those bonds that you make are for life.

Friends that stick with you in the face of death eaters and moldie pants are friends that you'll have forever.

They could maybe show Ginny, Neville and Luna stealing the sword as Dean tells the story. That would be cool.

i wonder if the rest of the D.A. joined the fight against the Death Eaters? do you think someone could have died?

i like that these sextet were all there to help Harry and didn't even look back and thought that anything can happen to them. i love them!!!

I'm pretty sure the rest of the DA did fight the death eaters and Fred died!

I'm still crying over that. I think I would have been even more sadder if one of the six died!

I like how in OotP Ginny and Neville fought to go with the trio to the DoM, they wanted to help Harry so much! They were willing to risk everything to go save Sirius, love it!

i'd be really sad if anyone from the D.A. died...i was so crushed over Fred's death. yes, it'll be a big blow if it was any of these six but with Fred, i still felt so sad.
