It's natural to feel bad for Snape, especially when it comes to his attraction for Lily. To me, the fact that it is not meant to be, and that he looked after her son in the future is enough to make me know he loved her no matter what.

It does makes sense of course. ;) I've said this before but I'm gonna say it again. I love that they're not together or didn't end up together because that was how they were 'meant' to be. That is their lovestory. Snape, even if he wasn't fond of Harry, still went out of his way to protect him & died for him and all because of his love for Lily. Selfless.

first time I read the book I was sooo upset by this backstory that I just hated James and hated James and Lily together because I shipped these two so much but now after I've thought about it, I love both ships and what they each stand for :love: |

I've alreaedy said this but the fact that they didn't end up together is the reason why I love these two. Not all of my ships are endgame, they don't have to be. It's the journey sometimes which makes it amazing. :)
