It's very good. And it's based on a true story
A very good interview with him I like the thing he brought up that he wonders what Snape ate, hehe. Me too now that he mentioned it! |

I didn't even listen to the one interviewing, I'm just mesmerized by his voice. I will feel very intimated if I would be the one interviewing him. I feel like I have to ask intelligent questions.

I love Alan and Emma Thompson's friendship. They should continue making movies together

Talk about a great Sense & Sensibility reunion, LOL. Emma (Elinor) is best friends with Alan (Colonel Brandon) and is also married to Greg (Willoughby). Just noticed that her hubby is the guy who broke Marianne's heart in S&S, yet it was Alan's character who put it back together and showed her real love . Have to say I absolutely LOVED Alan's character in that. For me, it was "Willoughby, who?" the moment I saw Colonel Brandon enter.

I still ship Col Brandon more with Elinor I think she and Alan have way more chemistry than he and Kate Winslet have. And I found Marianne quite annoying throughout the movie, and she BARELY even notices him until the late second part of the movie
Brandon and Elinor FTW It doesn't get any better than them getting married, in the movie, doesn't make any sense. We don't see him propose or even kiss. I didn't buy it, I guess Have you seen The Song Of Lunch?? It's a quite short movie, 1 hour or so. He gets more drunk as the dinner goes on and it's all narrated by Alan. It's a poem they made it from |

No ... never did. I loved Alan as Colonel Brandon - and he wanted Marianne, so I wanted him to get Marianne . I liked Elinor with Edward romantically, but liked Emma and Alan together during their scenes. Just thought of them as good friends - and figured Elinor loved Brandon as the brother John never was (what a wimp ). Alan in that soldier's uniform ... .

I posted that I ship Col Brandon with Elinor on Tumblr earlier and I'm not alone with that But I think it's only because I adore Emma and Alan together and think they have so much chemistry. If there is another universe, I hope they're married in it
They're in a movie called Judas Kiss together too. Despite their weird American southern accents, their banter is quite amazing Quote:

I'll have to see that! They're hilarious together.
Have you seen the most recent S&S (BBC version)? The guy who plans Brandon is handsome too (not as much as Alan though). They showed more Marianne/Brandon courtship, so we truly saw Marianne fall for him. Since it was longer, it was more like the book. Wish we had gotten some of those scenes in the Emma/Alan/Kate version. In my little shipper heart, I'm bummed that we didn't get a pre-marital kiss . LOL - just remembered - the same woman who plays Mrs. Dashwood (the Mom) in the AR S&S was also in the HP movies as Madam Pomfrey. Cool . Her S&S daughter AND son-in-law in one film . __________________

No, I haven't. I'd probably root for them in that version, though. It's just in Alan's version I donä't like them together because there's no build up between them. The firstr half she ignores him and is rather rude and then he saves her and then she starts notices him and then they get married, so that's why I can't be bothered with them
Did you know that Emma wrote the script to that movie, btw?? |
