Everyday that week when he died, the tributes kept pouring it and it was making me sad everyday. He was one of those actors that everyone respected and admired. There's nothing bad you can say about him as an actor and as a person.

I think Alan also made us love the character. I can't imagine anyone else playing the role.

No, he was a brilliant actor. I don't think anyone would be able to come as close to being wonderful as Alan. Plus, there's his decade-long role playing Severus Snape. He managed to bring a grey character to life and make us fall in love with him, even if we were meant to hate him.
