Very true. I love that along with Hagrid, Dumbledore, McGonagall and even to a not so obvious extent, Snape, all took care of Harry after his parent's death. That is such a great kind of love.

My headcanon: Hagrid was a mentor to the Marauders (especially if Sirius gave Hagrid his motorcycle), like he was to Harry/Hermione/Ron.

I think there are more humans than giants/half-giants and from what I read, half-giants are rare.
