| Red Moon(R/L):Wit Beyond Measure is Her Greatest Treasure. And we all know Ron is the wittiest of the bunch...  by Ana Luthor Hi, and welcome to the Ron/Luna thread! This is the place where we ship loonies Ron Weasley and Luna Lovegood. If you haven't read the latest HP book, then run, don't walk, and get it! If you like the idea of Ron and Luna together, then welcome to our humble thread. Don't be shy. We love to talk. If you don't like them together, then we welcome you anyway, but ask you to please refrain from any form of bashing. (The girl in the banners, in case you're wondering, is the beautiful actress Azura Skye. Since we don't have a picture of Luna, then we chose her to fill that role for now.) If you're asking yourself where the name Red Moon comes from, well, it's sort of a mix of both characters. Luna, as you know, is Italian (and Spanish) for moon, and since the Weasley's most predominant trait is their red hair, then the two were combined to form Red Moon. | Continuing from the other thread: Yes, Luna and Hermione have a calming affect on the boys. But I think Luna's greatest asset to a R/L relationship would simply be her myopic focus on Ron. She just doesn't see anyone else; and Ron would benefit from the ego boost. He desperately wants to be the center of someone's world, and the great thing about Luna is that she doesn't want anything from Ron except his attention (she doesn't care that he's best friends with a famous wizard, and she liked him before he was a Quidditch star). Can you not picture Ron, running all over the place, making an ass of himself, just to make Luna laugh? (And of course she would - HXP scene, anyone?) He'd be the silly boyfriend that is so charming your friends all say "Awwwww. I wish I had a guy that loved to make me laugh." They'd be great for each other.  Now picture Ron trying to make Hermione laugh. Exactly. Now picture Hermione giving Ron attention just to soothe his ego - especially after she finds out about the prophecy. And do I even need to mention that NEWTs are coming up? She won't have the time or patience to stroke Ron's ego - or anything else of his for that matter. Now if Harry needed something stroked... er, soothed... er, if he needed to be comforted. Yeah, comforted; that it. Hermione would drop everything to help him, but I don't really see someone like Ginny having the patience for his moods (as shown at Grimmauld Place, and the pre-DoM scene). | *pets title* Luna is quite smart....(She is a Ravenclaw, after all.) Jen, thou art insightful. always agree with you and can never express myself better. Though, I do think Ron makes Hermione laugh. He makes everyone laugh. It's an effortless thing. He's just one of those people. He's just Ron that way. him. ~Belle, who doesn't hope this becomes one of those threads where we start bashing people. (Would we actually DARE bash Hermione in this thread? | I forgot to mention how much I adore the new thread title! Well done! Thanks, Belle! As Dan said to Emma after she gushed about his Dan-ness during the Japan press conference; "Thank you for the nice things you said about me. You are too kind. And I love you and can't hide it anymore." (Although, I may have imagined that last part...) And of course no one is going to do any Ron or Hermione bashing. I very much want for both of them to be happy and find true love (esp. since they will have to face so much darkness and angst). Honestly, it's not about favorites. If I though they could make each other happy, and give each other what they need, I'd be a happy Kicker.  But I'm convinced that Ron needs Luna's brand of insanity. As for Luna? Weasely is her King! I JKR's humor and I keep thinking that a romance between Ron and Luna would be absolutely hysterical! | I LOVE R/L! I think this thread title is adorable, btw. Great job picking out Azura too. I saw her on Buffy and she really would make a great Luna. I dunno, after reading OotP it seemed to me that JKR was hinting at some future possibility of a Ron/Luna courtship. Of course, i guess the same could be argued for Harry/Luna b/c of their last scene, but im going to ignore that just because i can __________________ ~Matty~ | |||

| I'd like to think JKR could totally take advantage of the comedic funness that this ship could have on the mild dreariness of the HP world. Though I shan't deny that H/L is a possaiblity too. Appealing? Not really. Oi! I like Azure an all as Luna, but my heart is set on that girl from Peter Pan/Willy Wonka. (She's gonna be Veruca Salt! And that other kid from Peter Pan is gonna be Charlie. Isn't it lovely how British actors tend to act in the same films? | Really? Nu-uh! Why did this not spawn a rabid group of Snape/Trewlaney shippers... You know, the concept of them is quite humorous. Mostly because Snape seems like a no ho-hum type of person. He's very sour and serious and bitter and...evil. And Trewlaney is odd and...just odd.  Ron and Luna as Godric and Rowena. Hmmm..I always pictured them more like Harry and Hermione, but I thin that's the Cassie in me talking. And Salazaar like Draco and Helga like Molly/Ginny...Damn Cassie. Anyway, found the pic at Portkey (of course Portkey!) and its by Lisse.
