I love that you're re-reading the books. I've been meaning to but I'm busy with RL lately.

What I love about re-reading is you get to pick up on stuff you may have missed the last time you read. I like that part you pointed out, it all sounds incredulous for Harry.

I've watched the films loads of times, but I think I only ever read the books once. I've still got them on my shelf, but being quite a slow reader, I preferred the films.

We have a thread for that too!

It's rare to hear people prefer the film to the books! It's usually the other way around.

Only because I was so slow at reading them.

Films move faster, and I can see the whole thing more quickly. It is tempting to re-read them, as I can't really remember a lot of the stuff form the books. The extra stuff they missed in the films, as I do remember enjoying them at the time.

That's okay. We all prefer one over the other and the fact that you are reading the books (even if you're slow) would help you understand the HP world much better than just watching the movies.

True. I can only vaguely remember them, but I'm sure there was quite a lot of extra stuff in the books that they missed in the films.

I might go back and read them again. Time shouldn't matter, just means I get to enjoy them a bit longer.

Exactly. The movies can always be remade. But the books will last until the end of time. Canon is forever. There's something very comforting in that.

So back to my original question then. What is everyone's favorite secondary character?

Exactly. So who's your favorite secondary character in this book?

I can't decide, which is why I avoided the question.

I'm really not sure. There were so many good characters, it's so hard to choose.

Who's yours?

For this book it's Neville, especially when he stood up for his house when the Trio wanted to leave the Common Room. It speaks highly of what Neville became in DH.
