On the Hogwarts Express journey to school for their sixth year, Pansy and Draco sat together, with Draco's head in her lap as she stroked his hair. They were clearly affectionate. Though they didn't label themselves, they just hung out together a lot.

Yeah, it wasn't stated if they are dating though in my POV, I thought they did date, at least not exclusively.

I feel like it would be like casual dating as you said not exclusively like no hard feeling if anything happen between them, but yet they still care about each other.. Not sure if that made sense..

That makes sense. They are friends, they hang out, but nothing serious. Draco doesn't seem to be the type to get into a relationship while he's at Hogwarts. Astoria, his future wife, he met post-Hogwarts already.
