Oh god I'll have to think about this for a while.

By the way Kristi, I think Courtney's role is that she's a temporary Chief of Medicine or something, but that I read a long time ago so chances are it's not right anymore. I suppose we'll see when it happens! I'm so excited! From the looks of the promo, she's gonna be amazing..

And it was gonna be the last, but the strike made things difficult and the season ended up getting only 12 episodes and what was made out to be the finale wasn't a very good "tying up loose ends" ending but NBC didn't wanna renew it so ABC, since they owned the show, they took it.

NBC was a bitch. Just sayin.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I heard about NBC being a bitch about Scrubs. Which I really don't get why. You would think NBC would be grateful to Scrubs. That show is freaking awesome, and got their channel going again and got people to check out their other shows on that channel.

Yeah, you would think so, but they were just pricks and well, I'm just glad we finally got a station that respects the show.

To answer the thread title question..

1. Harry Potter series (I'm counting this as one)
2. A Thousand Splendid Suns
3. The Kite Runner
4. The Poisonwood Bible
5. Into the Wild

Wow.. I've been doing college applications all day and I'm exhausted.

Have you seen the movie Into The Wild? I heard the movie is really good.
For me I would like to read the book first then see the movie.

Yes, I read the book before seeing the movie. I thought the film adaptation was very good, but I definitely always recommend reading the book first.

Yeah, I always try to read the books before seeing movies based on them.

It always seems that way. The book being better than the film. Though the only except IMHO is Twilight. I actually liked the movie a lot more than the book, and the book was okay, I mean I enjoyed enough.

Into the Wild is on my list. I saw the movie one night and I was very impressed with it. Emile Hirsch is quite a fantastic actor. . I didn't know it was a book until the end of it otherwise I probably would have read the book first.

Yeah I'm with you on that Kristi. As a movie there wasn't much wrong with Twilight, the actors did a good job, the soundtrack was good, it's really just the story, the general plot that I think is stupid.

I can think of a few instances where I thought the movie was better than the book: Gone With the Wind, Dances With Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans, Lonesome Dove. Hmm... all of those are historical epics. Maybe it's just that particular type of story that makes for better movies than books.

Oh, and happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it! And for those who don't, happy Thursday!

While on the topic of film adaptations being better than the books: I don't know if I'll get a tomato thrown at me for saying this but IMHO I thought the LotR movies were MUCH better than the books. Maybe it was because I read them when I was only 14, but I thought they were a written a little too much like a history textbook. The films are amazing though.

Don't worry, no tomatoes from me. I actually agree with you. I could never get into the LotR books, but I really liked the movies.

I can't really do either . I started the first LotR about a year ago and I just could not get into it. I think HP is the only fantasy book that I do read.

Okay here's my list. I looked at my shelf for like 20 minutes before finally settling with the books I've reread the most.

1. HP, obviously.

2. Deception Point - I love the leading character, and the general storyline of it. Political drama mixed with action and science, it's just one of those books you don't get tired of read.

3. Heavier Than Heaven - Well, Nirvana is one of my favorite bands and I thought Cross wrote Kurt's story perfectly. This is really as far as I've went learning about his past. I could never read his journal, it would feel really strange.

4. The Last Lecture - Admittedly this one I've only read once so far but that really was enough. I suppose it has more meaning for me now then it would have a few months ago but still, it's really quite an amazing read.

5. A Thousand Splended Suns. - We already talked about this earliar but, it is an amazing, absolutely amazing book.
