OT Thread: "Don't you want me baby, don't you want me Ooooo..."

Stupid commercials and darn little brothers for getting the song stuck in your head.

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
When I met you...

From the previous thread, which I boneheadedly posted in before I realized what I was doing.

If I were older and married I would've and then jokingly would've said "Hold me!" But I'm silly like that.

We all have our moments. I know I do.
LOL! Actually, I called him right away and was all like ZOMG YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED I HATE YOU FOR MAKING ME WATCH THAT MOVIE!!! He basically said, "There, there, dear, you're all right. Now can I please go back to sleep?" He is actually pretty protective of me, but he knows me well enough to know when I'm being dramatic and overwrought.

*resumes singing*

I picked you up, I something something, until you were new...

I have to say that it did, Kevin.

But what the heck with the thread title? Is it a song?

Awww. It's okay. I didn't realize it was time for a new thread either. I was too caught up in our discussion about The Strangers.

That gave me a pretty funny mental image, I'm not gonna lie. It's sweet that he comforted you... Sort of. (Meaning that his comforting was only halfhearted from wanting to go back to sleep.) Men and their sleep, eh? Ha! Protective husbands are cute. Just as long as he realizes that you're capable of protecting yourself, too. I'm a bit of a feminist (I'm moderate as I've told Ashlie. I believe women are equal to men NOT superior, and I think it's awesome when women are able to be strong, independent, etc...) so I'd never get myself into a relationship with someone who's too protective. Not that I'm saying your husband is. He doesn't sound like it at all.

Now that I've wandered away from the topic, I'll get back on it. Your anecdote about The Strangers has given me a good laugh. Sorry that it has to be at your expense. Love you! And I was having fun theorizing what the sequel was gonna be about.

I don't know the song so I can't sing along.

Nah, don't worry, he's protective of me, but in the same way that he's protective of everyone he loves, including the men in his family and his closest male friends. I'm like you, I couldn't be with someone who was protective of me just because he thinks I'm the little woman who needs lookin' after. I'm afraid I'd go all Ginny Weasley on a guy like that and bat-bogey his behind... or the Muggle equivalent of bat-bogeying him, at any rate. And I've had to talk him down from a few dramatic and overwrought reactions of his own, so it's all good.

And it's okay, I'm always happy to bring the lulz, even when I'm the object of it.

And yes, the thread title is from an 80s song. I can't remember the title or who sings it, though.

*keeps singing*

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
That much is true
But even then I knew I'd find a much better place
Either with or without you...

Well that's good. Phew. Oh geez, I'd totally go Ginny Weasley on a guy like that, too. The poor (?!) guy would probably be scared ****less by me! I may be small, but dynamite comes in small packages, doesn't it?!

I'm glad to know you're that good humored. I don't like being the object of lulz. My friends get jokingly punched quite hard if I'm the object of their lulz.

I was born in 1991 and I've never really been into 80s music, so that explains it.

I've decided that I'm going to BS my math homework. I can always do a third draft of the paper, so I think I'm good. And my math teacher isn't exactly what you'd call thorough. I'm safe. Oh, Harry Potter, thank you for distracting me from my homework!
