Neville Longbottom is a young wizard in the Harry Potter series who was born on July 30th. His parents are Frank and Alice Longbottom, and his family comes from a long line of pure-bloods making Neville a pure-blood himself. His parents, while they were young suffered terribly under the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange - a strong follower of Lord Voldemort - and ever since then have been unable to care for their only son, because of this Neville had instead been raised by his grandmother : Augusta Longbottom. A very strict and demanding woman, who while she no doubt loves her grandson dearly, hasn't had the best track record of showing that love. .... Neville himself was a very shy, and forgetful young child - who while at school as usually the butt of numerous jokes and pranks - however, through the years and through his own budding friendship with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Luna Lovegood, Neville proved that he was and always would be the embodiment of a true and courageous Gryffindor. Someone who would always stand up for what he believed in, and would always fight for what he believed to be right. He was a hero, the one who could have been the boy-who-lived, and the one who helped his friends and no doubt did his parents proud by his brave soul and wonderful heart.

Matthew David Lewis was born on June 27 in 1989. He currently lives in in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and as a student he attended St. Mary's Comprehensive School. His acting career started when he was only 5 years old and managed a starring role in a TV show called Some Kind of Life. He comes from a family of five, with his mother, Linda - who is a Justice of the Peace in Leeds - and his father, Adrian - who is retired from his old job in computers. He also has two older brothers, named Christopher and Anthony. Both of whom also work in television. However unlike his movie counterpart - Matthew himself is very athletic and has said numerous times that enjoys playing rugby, football, cricket, and tennis and occasionally likes to 'box with his mates'.

"Oh, Neville," he heard the old woman sigh.

"You can't go out," said Neville, "you'll be caught again. Gryffindor will be in even more trouble."
"You don't understand," said Harry, "this is important."
But Neville was clearly steeling himself to do something desperate.
"I won't let you do it," he said, hurrying to stand in front of the portrait hole. "I'll – I'll fight you!"

PoA:

"She [Trelawney] says the crystal ball's told her that, if I tell you, I'll have a horrible accident!" squeaked Neville…

GoF:

After Moody's class on the Unforgivables: "Neville?" Hermione said gently.
Neville looked around.
"Oh, hello," he said, his voice much higher than usual. "Interesting lesson, wasn't it? I wonder what's for dinner, I'm – I'm starving, aren't you?"
"Neville, are you all right?" said Hermione.
"Oh, yes, I'm fine," Neville gabbled, in the same unnaturally high voice. "Very interesting dinner – I mean lesson – what's for eating?"

"As Harry took off his glasses and climbed into his four-poster, he imagined how it must feel to have parents still living but unable to recognize you. He often got sympathy from strangers for being an orphan, but as he listened to Neville's snores, he thought that Neville deserved it more than he did."

OotP:

"My gran says that's rubbish," piped up Neville. "She says it's the Daily Prophet that's going downhill, not Dumbledore. She's cancelled our subscription. We believe Harry," he said simply. He climbed into bed and pulled the covers up to his chin, looking owlishly over them at Seamus. "My gran's always said You-Know-Who would come back one day. She says if Dumbledore says he's back, he's back."

"And in our first year," said Neville to the group at large, "he saved that Philological Stone –"
"Philosopher's," hissed Hermione.
"Yes, that – from You-Know-Who," finished Neville.

"Expelliarmus!" said Neville, and Harry, caught unawares, felt his wand fly out of his hand.
"I DID IT!" said Neville gleefully. "I've never done it before – I DID IT!"

"Harry was pleased to see that all of them, even Zacharias Smith, had been spurred to work harder than ever by the news that ten more Death Eaters were now on the loose, but in nobody was this improvement more pronounced than in Neville. The news of his parents' attacker's escape had wrought a strange and even slightly alarming change in him."

HBP:

"They’re even staring at us," said Neville, indicating himself and Luna, "because we’re with you!"
"They’re staring at you because you were at the Ministry, too," said Harry ,as he hoisted his trunk into the luggage rack. "Our little adventure there was all over the Daily Prophet, you must’ve seen it."
"Yes, I thought Gran would be angry about all the publicity," said Neville, "but she was really pleased. Says I’m starting to live up to my dad at long last. She bought me a new wand, look!"
He pulled it out and showed it to Harry.
"Cherry and unicorn hair," he said proudly. "We think it was one of the last Ollivander ever sold, he vanished next day – oi, come back here Trevor!"
And he dived under the seat to retrieve his toad as it made one of its frequent bids for freedom.

DH:

"Just in case they're - busy - and you get the chance - "
"Kill the snake?"
"Kill the snake," Harry repeated.
"All right, Harry. You're okay, are you?"
"I'm fine. Thanks, Neville."
But Neville seized his wrist as Harry made to move on.
"We're all going to keep fighting, Harry. You know that?"

"But you are a pure-blood, aren't you, my brave boy?" Voldemort asked Neville, who stood facing him, his empty hands curled into fists.
"So what if I am?" said Neville loudly.
"You show spirit, and bravery, and you come of noble stock. You will make a very valuable Death Eater. We need your kind, Neville Longbottom."
"I'll join you when hell freezes over," said Neville. "Dumbledore's Army!" he shouted, and there was an answering cheer from the crowd, whom Voldemort's silencing charms seemed unable to hold.

Nice! I have more from today guys! Pictures!

So, we wake up super early so we can get there early so we can be first in line at the autograph table. We hang out for a bit, then the doors open and we go to the line. First in! Only Matt was over an hour late...had trouble waking up. When he came in, I said I liked his shirt, he thanked me. So me and my friend shell out another 25 bucks for him to sign our books. And we move on. My friends lined up to meet Sean astin. I decide to depart for a bit to find matt a small gift. Came back, waited for a bit, then was the first in for the photo op (pic below). Decided to hang around for a bit more while waiting for the photo to print. We went back to the autograph table once he was done with photo ops and I gave him his gift: A tack shot glass and a tiny bottle of maple syrup. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the syrup. I then got him to give IMDB a shout out We hung around for a bit longer, and then it was time for him to go back. He could have stayed all week, but there were no flights other than today. As he left, I said, Thanks for visitinbg our country, and he said thanks for Having me.

It was a pretty cool weekend. So awesome to have finally met someone who's associated with Harry Potter.

The Photo Op. I decided I wanted to make it look like we were waltzing. My friends went for a duel with Matt Lewis.

I love his shirt. My dad has the same one. I got a shirt with the picture of the Beatles from their early years as the band.

That's so wicked Emma. Truly. I'm so genuinely happy for you.

An hour late though. *tisk tisk* Matt, it's called a hotel wake up call. Next time, use it.
Now I understand why they have a driving service for the film production. No chance of being held up by a drowsy Neville who has trouble waking up on time.

Hope his flight back is going okay. Snow and his fear of flying was making him nervous.

You know, as much as I recognize that Internet is a bit of a free for all, sending in my pictures without my permission is really not cool, especially the photo op pictures.

I know the girl who posted those at SS and she probably just found your post on her own. She runs hbpmoviepics and dhmoviepics and she finds news/pictures VERY fast. SS posted someone else's photos too.
