And honestly we know very little of the backgrounds of our 4 main characters. Maybe with the exception of Newt. But I guess that's fine since on HP, we also didn't touch on Hermione's family that much as do the other characters but we do know a lot about Harry's past at least. And even Ron's.

That's why I'm not gonna expect backstories for Tina/Queenie & Jacob unless their past will somehow connect to the SLs that we'll get for these next 3 movies.
