Yeah, that's also one of my wishes. It would have been great if we got more scenes between Newt & Graves. I actually felt like maybe towards the end of the movie, the MACUSA will launch an investigation on what happened to Graves and Newt helps but that didn't happen sadly.

Ah yes his suitcase. I think he probably did it on his own. Conjured up a magic spell so that the suitcase will fit all the creatures he wants to take care of. Remember in HP, Hermione used the Undetectable Extension Charm for her beaded bag to pack all the stuff she, Harry & Ron will need to hunt down the Horcruxes. So maybe he used that on the suitcase too.
