So I Googled cause I was curious but she started acting at the age of 17 but was mostly doing plays. Her first film was in 1954 and she was aged 20 that time.

Yeah most Brits really do plays apart from doing TV shows and movies. Case in point, Alfie Enoch. He's busy doing plays now as he probably wants a break from doing a TV show.

A Room with a View (1985 film). Dame Maggie with Dame Judi Dench. HBC is also in this movie (I haven't seen it).
