We have the books but I wish they were explored more in the movies although I do understand why there's less of both of them there too.

yup..At least we got the idea that they are close to each other not just acquaintance. Ginny used to call Luna "Loony" at first when Neville hesitated to join the compartment she's sitting in, yet later this has changed..May be because Ginny got closer so she saw Luna as she is, a little odd but has a pure golden heart. After that it was Ginny who stood against anyone called Luna stuff or abused her.

In fairness, almost everyone did call Luna "Loony" but I am glad that she grew closer to Luna and eventually they became good friends.

Yep. She named her only daughter after her let's not forget that I guess they also payed each other visits..I can see Ginny hanging out in Luna's house during christmas or owling each other regularly during summer too

I can see that too as they're both good friends. Which means that Rolf is also a good friend of the Potters.
