I cant pick between the three of them. I love all of them, Remus was amazing, so loveable and protective of Harry, and very very polite. And the fact that he actually was BEST Friends with people like Sirius and James is so funny, because they were so mischievous and he was a prefect.

Yea, i wonder the same.
I mean, as much as i don't like Peter, he couldn't be that bad, other wise he wouldn't be a Marauder.
My theory is that he got a little jealous of Lily. Like afraid that she would take his place, since she got along so well with James (obviously

), Remus and Sirius (she even called Sirius by his nickname on the letter we saw in the 7th book).

I just wish JKR wrote a prequel about them.. Or she could at least give a long and detailed interview.

or maybe Peter was the one Marauder that was always left out and it has always been James, Remus & Sirius. i also take it those 3 were the envy of the girls back then.

If James hadn't died, would he have kept the map or given it to Harry when he was old enough to appreciate it?

I think James wouldn't have wanted Harry to have the map as a Parent he would have wanted Harry to concentrate on his studies and not get in to trouble . But after a few letters home about Harry and Ron's misdeeds and being out of bounds, much like he and Sirius, James was more then happy to share his secrets, but this older wiser more mature Jame would have given his son the map but not so he could get in to mischief just to make sure he didn't he caught.

Good point. If he had given the map to Harry I wonder if he wouldn't tell Lily. Sirius would most definitely approve. Remus would have misgivings about it though for sure. As proven in PoA.

Maybe while Harry was still pretty young, James probably wouldn't have given it to him. Maybe when he was older though. We know James left him the invisibility cloak so maybe he would've done the same with the map?

James didn't leave Harry the invisibility cloak, Dumbledore was inspecting it when James died and since he wasn't able to give it back to James gave it to Harry, it's rightful owner.

The cloak I don't ever see leave Harry until he dies of old age and only then passes it on to one of his kids.
