Voldemort was a bit mad in GoF like he was also excited to have a body. The last few minutes of the movie (and the last few chapters of the book) were so dark.

This is creepy (but good).
   The Murder of the Riddle Family was committed by the future Lord Voldemort in 1943, when Riddle ventured to his parents’ hometown of Little Hangleton in order to learn more about his heritage. When Riddle learned from his maternal uncle Morfin Gaunt that the former’s father was a Muggle, the younger Riddle proceeded to the Riddle House and killed his father, paternal grandfather, and grandmother with the Killing Curse. __________________

Sadly, we won't get any Voldemort for Fantastic Beasts but Voldemort's past has always been something I was interested in from reading the books.

He's a very interesting character because you would want to know why he is the way he is. He's evil and feels no love mostly because of his tragic and depressing past.

And he's really a great villain for the HP universe, he's terrifying and this is what becomes of wizards who crave for power and dark magic.

Voldemort is a dark character and probably the only truly evil person. We have other villains that are evil but I can argue that they at least have a heart and can love. Not with Voldemort though. He feels none of that.
