That was such an important memory as we get to see how Voldemort became the way he is. Dumbledore hid it because it's not a memory he's want to recall for obvious reasons.

That's a very good question.
 In a way, I think at the back of his mind, Dumbledore might have blamed himself. But ultimately it is still down to Tom Riddle's decision. He was the one who was hell bent on pursuing dark magic. He wanted to split his soul so that he can live forever. He wanted more power than he could ever have. Voldemort may have been influenced by Dumbledore somehow but all his actions is still his doing and there's no one else to blame but himself.__________________

That makes sense plus I think that he could take the blame partly, but like you said, Voldemort want more and more power so that way he can control the wizard school and others..

Dark magic really consumed him and that's why he ended up the way he is. It didn't help that Tom Riddle had a very traumatic and sad childhood which influenced the way he was brought up and be the person he is.

I remember when he accepted this role of Voldemort, he was also weary of being typecast as a villain in films. Again, it was probably a family member, a nephew or niece (I think) that made him change his mind and he accepted the role. I have to find that article...
