I think he is. But his drive for power and interest in dark magic led him to more evil than doing good. Coupled with the fact that he has a tragic past, not growing up with parents who probably didn't love him back.

He's also friends with the wrong people in Hogwarts (or maybe not friends and they're just using each other). I'd like to know more of Tom's past in Hogwarts actually, what he was like as a student.

What interests me about Tom/Voldemort is what was going through his mind while he was in Hogwarts. Does his life really suck that much for him to take the dark path? I'm saying yes because, like I said, his parents didn't love him and he was left at the orphanage but he would've had some friends at least?

I guess his friends also had a dark tendency. He could've easily been a good guy too if he surrounded himself with good friends but I think he was really tempted to do evil than to do good. That's why I want some backstory on him during his time in Hogwarts. I think it was there that he decided on what he wants to do with his life.
