Ah lawyers in the UK wear that wig when they're in court. They're called barristers. I'm not exactly sure why they still wear that wig to date.

Yep! I watched a UK show set to modern day and the lawyers (and judge) wear those wigs. Not sure why they still wear them though.

It probably boils down to tradition for them. And this is also what I found online:

And it looks like they already abolished it except for criminal cases.
