I remember the cinema I watched DH2 laughed during that hug part and that's why it felt off to me. Voldemort is not a funny character.

That clip, Ralph is amazing though.

He's typecast (sometimes) playing villain roles but that's because he does it so well.

lol VERY VERY well, I remember him from Weathering Hights, Perfect choice, also he's handsome so was Voldemort until he turned himself into a snake-look-like ...Yuck. So, yeah Ralph was an excellent choice but the writing was pretty bad. The movie I mean not the books

Yeah since I think that he mentioned that he didn't want to stay w/ one role for rest of his life, but at least I'm glad that he did this..

The way they talk and their accent is playing a role here. That's why I prefer them playing Classic novels, plays rather than any one else.

I agree, very suitable for them.

Is it safe to say that if Tom Riddle didn't have a tragic past, his life would be different? Or would he still go that route even with supportive parents?

Sure..at least he won't be the Dark Lord, you know. Remember, he's still a Slytherin descendant. May be get bit interested in dark art but sure, he won;t turn into the most dangerous villain in centuries
