She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in. One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character. ~ JKR ~ "I'd have to say that I was incredibly thrilled that Ginny and Harry got together!" - Chris Rankin - "My character has played her part and played it well, and now it's Ginny's turn, just as it happens in the books. "With Umbridge policing the fires and reading all our mail?" "The thing about growing up with Fred and George," said Ginny thoughtfully, "is that you sort of start thinking that anything's possible if you've got enough nerve." Harry looked at her. Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate-Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with dementors-or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful.... _________________________________________________  A roar of celebration erupted from the hole behind her. | I'm now convinced it's H/G. I stared at the larger picture for a long time and it really looks like them. I mean, I can't imagine who else it'd be.  Here's the video our thread title came from: Not only does Harry always seem to connect Ginny to light but she was literally the light (blazing look) he saw before he died. | I can make Harry out but I still can't see Ginny. Although the Burrow scene and they're in their night clothes is not a bad idea. | Yeah, Harry's much easier to make out in the larger image than the girl is - he looks like Dan to me pretty clearly. The light even looks less like manboobs when made bigger. But who else would be with Harry who has long hair and is in their bathrobe? | The thread title is beautiful. ♥ As for the picture, I'm starting to think it's them. Someone suggested at HBP movie pics (I think) that the two figures seem to be descending a staircase and that could explain the height difference. I think that's what threw me off at first. The height difference makes it look like it's an adult woman with a child at first glance. If the girl is standing on a higher stair that explains things though. It could be during the Burrow attack. The two of them running down the stairs to see what the commotion is (I wonder what they were doing upstairs together *eyebrow waggle*). I can believe the girl is in a white dressing gown but what do you guys think the boy (Harry?) is wearing? | |||
