~ What Others Have Said About H/G ~

The plan was, which I really hope I fulfilled, is that the reader, like Harry, would gradually discover Ginny as pretty much the ideal girl for Harry. She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in.

One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character.

We've been filming for 6 weeks now and it's going really well, it's a romantic comedy actually. He has a thing for Bonnie, Ginny Weasley actually, who's a lovely character and he does, he gets to kiss someone else in Half-Blood Prince, which is quite the romantic scene.

The train began to move. Harry saw the boys' mother waving and their sister, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed; then she fell back and waved. Harry watched the girl and her mother disappear as the train rounded the corner.

"Ginny!" Harry muttered, sprinting to her and dropping to his knees. "Ginny -- don't be dead -- please don't be dead --" He flung his wand aside, grabbed Ginny's shoulders, and turned her over. Her face was white as marble, and cold as ice, yet her eyes were closed, so she wasn't Petrified. But then she must be --
"Ginny, please wake up," Harry muttered desperately, shaking her. Ginny's head lolled hopelessly from side to side.

"You've got to help me, Tom," Harry said, raising Ginny's head again. "We've got to get her out of here. There's a basilisk...I don't know where it is, but it could be along any moment.... Please help me --"
Riddle didn't move. Harry, sweating, managed to hoist Ginny half off the floor, and bent to pick up his wand again.

"Ah, there's Penelope!" said Percy, smoothing his hair and going pink again. Ginny caught Harry's eye and they both turned away to hide their laughter as Percy strode over to a girl with long, curly hair, walking with his chest thrown out so that she couldn't miss his shiny badge.

"He -- er -- just asked Fleur Delacour to go to the ball with him," said Ginny. She looked as though she was fighting back a smile, but kept patting Ron's arm sympathetically.

"She's part Veela," said Harry. "You were right -- her grandmother was one. It wasn't your fault, I bet you just walked past when she was turning on the old charm for Diggory and got a blast of it -- but she was wasting her time. He's going with Cho Chang." Ron looked up. "I asked her to go with me just now," Harry said dully, "and she told me." Ginny had suddenly stopped smiling.

"Harry, I'm talking to you, can you hear me?"
"Huh?" He looked around. Ginny Weasley, looking very windswept, had joined him at the library table where Harry had been sitting alone.

"You seem really down lately," Ginny persisted. "You know, I'm sure if you just talked to Cho..."
"It's not Cho I want to talk to," said Harry bruskly.
"Who is it, then?" asked Ginny, watching him closely.
"I...." He glanced around to make quite sure that nobody was listening; Madam Pince was several shelves away, stamping out a pile of books for a frantic-looking Hannah Abbott. "I wish I could talk to Sirius," he muttered. "But I know I can't."
Ginny continued to watch him thoughtfully. More to give himself something to do than because he really wanted any, Harry unwrapped his Easter egg, broke off a large bit and put it into his mouth. "Well," said Ginny slowly, helping herself to a bit of egg too, "if you really want to talk to Sirius, I expect we could think of a way to do it...."
"Come on," said Harry dully. "With Umbridge policing the fires and reading all our mail?"
"The thing about growing up with Fred and George," said Ginny thoughtfully, "is that you sort of start thinking that anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."
Harry looked at her. Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate-Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with dementors-or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful....

A roar of celebration erupted from the hole behind her. Harry gaped as people began to scream at the sight of him; several hands pulled him into the room. "We won!" yelled Ron, bounding into sight and brandishing the silver Cup at Harry. "We won! Four hundred and fifty to a hundred and forty!
We won!" Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her. After several long moments – or it might have been half an hour – or possibly several sunlit days – they broke apart.

Hmm, I just found an article back from October 31st where it mentions the crew going down to shoot "2 minutes of reed beds":

The production team is heading to Dorset next week to film the footage for part of the teenage wizard's next adventure, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.

This doesn't mean it's for the scene Phoenix is describing, but it makes the most sense to me, honestly. Yates would probably want shots of the reed beds from above that doesn't involve the actors and that's what they seem to have filmed above.

Interesting. All these crazy things we heard about, like that article you posted are now starting to make sense. Those night shoots that Bonnie Dan and Rupert did along with the other Weasleys at the Burrow makes sense now. It was probably most likely some parts of this action scene. It's all starting to fall into place now.

I don't know why this caught my eye just now but...in the main banner at the top here, in the middle pic on the bottom--doesn't it look like Ginny's thinking, "One day, Harry, and you'll only be looking at me! Just you wait! One day!!"

Gah, I want to believe these spoilers. I really do. I know I should trust Phoenix. I guess I've just been jaded by other bad spoiler experiences. I've become a cynical sceptic without knowing it!

Wow, this article proves even more that the burrow scene posted by phoenix is real.

Yeah, this must be the night shoots that Bonnie, Dan and Rupert filmed last year. Mystery solved.

I'll admit, when I first heard the Burrow being attacked, I thought someone had hacked into Phoenix's account and made it up.

Because wow... the change is extremely drastic. The scene does sound very exciting and it'll probably be quite tense on film, but I still hope the Burrow doesn't burn all the way down. Or that they can at least rebuild it. I'll be sad if the Burrow gets completely destroyed. I mean it's the Burrow.

Anyway, yeah, they are sounding more and more real to me when you connect it with everything else.

It does make the war seem more real, when being attacked at home. It does start to make sense.

But I am afraid of what will happen to the burrow, I don't want to have it completely destroyed, hell no! A little damaged is okay.

On the last thread when we were predicting dates that WB would release a Half-Blood Prince picture, I guessed January 28th. I didn't get my picture, but I think I like those script snippets more!
