We think Leo (the astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny and here's why:
1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th
2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members
3) Both have firery spirits that seem to compliment each other perfectly

If these don't say match made in heaven, then heaven must not exist.

JKR: I think so. I hope so. So you liked Harry/Ginny, did you, when it happened?
ES: We've been waiting for this for years!

JKR: Yeah.
ES: It actually materialized!
JKR: It actually happened, I know! I felt a little bit like that.
MA: Had you been trying to get them —
JKR: Well I always knew that that was going to happen, that they were going to come together and then part.

JKR: Well, no, not really, because the plan was, which I really hope I fulfilled, is that the reader, like Harry, would gradually discover Ginny as pretty much the ideal girl for Harry. She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in.

One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character.

Our Favourite HBP scene: Chapter 24
Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her.
After several long moments – or it might have been half an hour – or possibly several sunlit days – they broke apart. The room had gone very quiet. Then several people wolf-whistled and there was an outbreak of nervous giggling. Harry looked over the top of Ginny's head to see Dean Thomas holding a shattered glass in his hands and Romilda Vane looking as though she might throw something. Hermione was beaming, but Harry's eyes sought Ron. At last he found him, still clutching the Cup and wearing an expression appropriate to having been clubbed over the head. For a fraction of a second they looked at each other, then Ron gave a tiny jerk of the head that Harry understood to mean, "Well – if you must."
The creature in his chest roaring in triumph, Harry grinned down at Ginny and gestured wordlessly out of the portrait hole. A long walk in the grounds seemed indicated, during which – if they had time – they might discuss the match.

Chapter 25
The fact that Harry Potter was going out with Ginny Weasley seemed to interest a great number of people, most of them girls, yet Harry found himself newly and happily impervious to gossip over the next few weeks. After all, it made a very nice change to be talked about because of something that was making him happier than he could remember being for a very long time, rather than because he had been involved in horrific scenes of Dark magic.
"You'd think people had better things to gossip about," said Ginny, as she sat on the common-room floor, leaning against Harry's legs and reading the Daily Prophet. "Three Dementor attacks in a week, and all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it's true you've got a Hippogriff tattooed across your chest."
Ron and Hermione both roared with laughter. Harry ignored them.
"What did you tell her?"
"I told her it's a Hungarian Horntail," said Ginny, turning a page of the newspaper idly. "Much more macho."
"Thanks," said Harry, grinning. "And what did you tell her Ron's got?"
"A Pygmy Puff, but I didn't say where."
Ron scowled as Hermione rolled around laughing.

But Ron's tolerance was not to be tested much as they moved into June, for Harry and Ginny's time together was becoming increasingly restricted. Ginny's O.W.L.s were approaching and she was therefore forced to revise for hours into the night. On one such evening, when Ginny had retired to the library and Harry was sitting beside the window in the common room, supposedly finishing his Herbology homework but in reality reliving a particularly happy hour he had spent down by the lake with Ginny at lunch-time, Hermione dropped into the seat between him and Ron...

But, saying that it depends on the build up to H/G. The reason for the H/C kiss to be shown is there's no surprise because we had some build up to the romance in GoF. Now if we have some hints/build up to H/G in OotP then it'll give us a better chance to see if the kiss will be shown in the HBP teaser or not.

See I don't think they will. What we will probably see is Harry flirting with Ginny and a most likely a Harry that's really wants to make a move or we'll see them being couplely (sp?) together ie smiling and holding hands. But to see a kiss in the HBP teaser would take away from that "Finally!" feeling we all had when we read the books. You know how people complain about trailers showing practically the entire plot of films so when you see it , there's no real surprises anymore? It would be something like that to me. I mean they can suggest the comparison of H/C and H/G by showing how with Cho he was awkward and scared but with Ginny he was happy.

Alot can be suggested in a teaser if they do it right without revealing too much.

Oh my gosh! Where have I been? lol We're on a new thread already! I love the new title, it's fab. And, of course, I'm completely giddy over the teaser spoilers that have leaked. It seems like we might just catch a quick glimpse of Ginny and the other DA kids. So exciting!

It would definitely make sense that they would release a new batch of promos because since the teaser is coming out soon they'll probably launch the official website for Ootp. Hopefully, Ginny, Neville, and Luna will get their own profile pages like the champions had in GoF.

I'm not sure what my thoughts are on the possibility of the H/G kiss being shown in the HBP teaser. Part of me hopes they would show it (because I'd be dying to see it) but another part likes the idea of not being spoiled. It reminds me of when I read HBP for the first time and started noticing Harry developing feelings for Ginny. It took all the willpower in my possession not to skip ahead to see if they'd get together. lol I managed to control the impulse so that when I did finally get to the kiss it was all the more satisfying. If their kiss is in the HBP teaser there'd be no way to be spoiler-free because it would spark 6567678678678678 icons. Ha.

As for the H/C kiss, I don't mind either way. If the reports are accurate and it is in the Ootp teaser then I'm fine with it. Probably because it's not as big a deal to me as H/G's kiss.

While it makes sense that putting the H/G kiss in the HBP teaser would ruin the "finally" factor, but when it comes down it the producers just want what sells - and romance sells that's why we had shippery moments in one of the GoF trailers,

and that's why they're not even waiting for the trailer to show the H/C kiss, they're putting it in the teaser instead when you get your first glimpse of footage from the film.

The non-reader audience already know that Harry and Cho kiss in this movie. It's been in papers and magazines for months. By the time HBP's teaser is due for release again everyone could know about Harry and Ginny considering a couple of newspapers/magazines have already talked about it even now. The producers might use the kiss to reel in the romantics and especially the teen market. 'Cause since GoF I think by raising the rating they're realising now that the kids might no longer be their primary market instead the teens will be. And, in their minds they might think teens = the OC, Dawson's yada yada crowd which mainly deals with romance.

Now I'm not saying they'd put every bit of romance into the teaser though! ;p

But, I could see them putting a quick glimpse of the H/G kiss in there for the same reason they're putting the H/C kiss into OotP's teaser - Harry gets the girl.

Was anyone else really surprised they're showing the H/C kiss in the teaser? I thought that would be one of the things kept under tight lock and key, kind of like how we never saw what Voldy actually looked like in promo stuff for GoF. But I guess it's true that they're trying to use the romance-sells idea. I'm kind of hoping they don't show the H/G kiss in the HBP trailer, just b/c it's such a huge moment - Harry's not just kissing the girl he likes, he's kissing the girl who he's gonna end up with.

But I would love some very obvious foreshadowing of the H/G romance - Harry being all embarrassed around her or hugging her after the Quidditch match (assuming that'll still be there) or something that will let the audience know to expect H/G. See, the way they decided to show H/C's kiss so early suggests they know it's not very important - he only kisses her once and after that it's pretty much downhill. Maybe since H/G's kiss is more important (and if Book 7's out by then, everyone will know they end up together, etc.), they'll wait a little longer to show it? I'm just hoping, anyway.

The teaser sounds amazing, though. I was confused when the person mentioned a bit where 'Harry flies on a broom over London, surrounded by other members of the DA.' Did he/she mean the Order, because I assume the sextet still fly to London on thestrals...?

Yeah, I didn't even think my post went through last night!

I agree the guy who saw the trailer got mixed up between the D.A. and the Order. We know they filmed the scenes with the kids on the Thestrals through one of the interviews with Rupert, so I'm excited the scene with the Order is on there too!

I'd love to see that scene where Harry steps in front of Ginny! I don't know if it'll make it though. And, even if it did they'd have to probably change some of the words of the threat like "little one" since Bonnie is almost the same height as Emma, and I think Evanna might be an inch smaller.

They'd better keep it as Ginny who is threatened and not change it to either Hermione or Luna! When you think about it, it's Ginny who has the common link with the other five (sister to Ron; best girl friend to Hermione; really good friend to Neville; the one who brought Luna into the group; friend and future LI to Harry) so it has more of an impact that they all protect her. If it's Hermione or Luna it wouldn't work since both of them seem to be niggling each other throughout the book.

I would be so happy if they kept in the part where Harry steps in front of Ginny when Bellatrix threatens her. That and the part where Ginny is pressed against Harry in the phone booth.

By the way, is it possible I could be added to the list of Leos?
