Harry Potter - Leos H/G: She awoke the monster in him.

Welcome to the official Leo thread, formerly the Doppelgangers who's fans support the Harry/Ginny ship. We've updated our name so be sure to update your signature!

Our lovely new header created by the lovely ~Nicole~

The reason for the name change is due to the simple fact that most of us agreed that, although Doppelganger is unique, it doesn't suit our ship as much as it use to. With new evidence now to support H/G it was decided that Leo (astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny.

1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th
2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members
3) Both have firery spirits that seem to complement each other perfectly

If these don't say match made in heaven, then heaven must not exist.

Our title was inspired by this passage in HBP:
...they found themselves looking at Dean and Ginny, who were locked in a close embrace and kissing fiercely as if glued together.

It was as though something large and scaly erupted into life in Harry's stomach, clawing at his insides: hot blood seemed to flood his brain, so that all thought was extinguished, replaced by a savage urge to jinx Dean into a jelly.

OK here is a question to start off the new thread with.

If you have to pick your FAVORITE H/G related scene in HBP, which scene would it be and why?

I will think on my own question and get back to you. Because I have so many so I am going to have to analyze them and choose just 1 as my favorite.

ETA: I am glad you addedd that drawing from Marta. She is so talented and that scene is where the monster was born. So it fits our title.

^My favorite H/G scene would definitely be where Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione are sitting in the common room and that whole "hyppogriff tattoed across Harry's chest scene". Mostly because it was the first scene with them as a couple...and it also showed Ginny's sense of humor and how well Harry knew her!!!!

Regarding your question, Houston..

Hands down, my favorite H/G scene is whenever Ginny grabs Harry's hand and takes him away from Dumbledore's body. That scene gets me teary eyed, not due to sadness, but pure happiness, as it fills me with such intense emotion with the knowledge of understanding how REAL and PERFECT H/G are for each other.. Hagrid couldn't come close to getting Harry to leave but Ginny comes, grabs his hand, tells him to come on, and Harry instinctively takes her hand without even thinking.. It's like he just knew and felt it was Ginny.. Jo demonstrated how intensely connected they are in this scene..

And this wording is amazing as they are walking away...

It's like they are an unstoppable force together, able to get through anything and everything, due to the love that they have for each other.. I think Jo hit home the power of love theme in a brilliant way in this amazing scene.

I haven't been by this thread in weeks. It's so hard to keep up with the HP board these days.

Anyway, I keep trying to catch up, and start writing down responses, and then the thread gets away from me and I go to the next one.

So, some of these responses are pretty old (with the rate this thread moves these days, who knows how many threads ago?), but I wrote 'em, so I'm gonna post 'em.

Oh, and apparently spoiler space isn't needed anymore, right?

OotP was what made a Harry/Ginny shipper out of me, too. While I was never against the ship, I wasn't really a supporter of it, either. I guess I was just neutral on the subject. But the fifth book really made me see it.

I agree. I think she did a wonderful job of building on the closeness he was starting to feel towards Ginny in OotP, and then work on showing how it grew throughout practically the entire school year in HBP. I really don't see how it could be viewed as "coming out of nowhere".

(And anything that gets Remus a bigger part in the books is okay with me

Somone back on the last thread commented upon how it was definitely more than a crush with Harry/Ginny (okay, several people commented on that

) and that one of the reasons in support of this was the fact that Harry was willing to risk Ron's friendship in order to be with Ginny. That's a very important point. Although I never worried about Ron's reaction (I mean, he was pretty clearly in favor of Harry/Ginny back in the last book), Harry was. He really was concerned about this, and we know how important Ron is to Harry (after all, Ron was chosen as the most important thing for Harry in the Triwizard Tournament). Yet he kissed Ginny without even thinking about the fact that Ron was one of the people watching.

What was my favorite H/G moment in HBP? I'm going to have to think about that. I'll try to get back to this thread again sometime in the next month. (I really need more free time!

[Ginny] met Harry's gaze with the same hard, blazing look that she had seen when he hugged him after winning the Quiddich Cup in his absence, and he knew that at that moment they understood each other perfectly, and that when he told her what he was going to do now, she would not say, ''Be careful,'' or ''Don't do it,'' but accept his decision, because she would not have expected anything less of him.

Why? Because it's perfect. The way they just look at each other and know what they're thinking. The way she'll support him in his decision because she knows that's what he has to do. Everything about this scene is awesome.

Wheee! That is my title!

My fav scene is actually one that is some kind of short and not romantic. During Quidditch practice, when Ron pretty muchs kills the other girl and Ginny snaps at him. And then Harry snaps at Ginny and she tells him that since he was so busy to be a team captain, someone should or something like that and Harry has to fight the laughter.
This is the scene previous to the monster one...

Why? Well, cause it's endearing the way they can share so many things naturally and without even say it.

Oh man all of these scene are so fantastic it so hard to choose the best one from all of them. The Kiss will go down in my books as the best and most satisfying first kiss of two literary characters. Several Sunlit Days.

Amazing. And the common room scene showed how comfortable they are together as a couple. Gone are the awkward "what do I do?" inner monologue in Harry's head. He feels so confident and happy that he doesn't care what anyone else says or thinks about him and Ginny.
But the scene that holds my heart the most is probably the scene at Dumbledore's body. As Wilpen described. Their connection is so evident. Harry was in such a shock that he couldn't bear to move. On instinct he felt Ginny's warmth and allowed her to take over.

My favorite scene is when they are all in the common room together too. I love that they are already so comfortable with each other and Harry has gotten over his initial awkwardness of what Ron would do if he ever got with Ginny. The whole scene is so great because it's so normal even though there is so much going on around them.
