She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in. One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character. ~ JKR ~ "I'd have to say that I was incredibly thrilled that Ginny and Harry got together!" - Chris Rankin - "My character has played her part and played it well, and now it's Ginny's turn, just as it happens in the books. I think her character deserves Harry's love." - Katie Leung - "It was interesting to see what happened with the relationship between Ginny and Harry and I think it ended well. | Okay, I mentioned this right before the last thread was closed, but there's a chance we may see Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny playing Quidditch at the Burrow at the beginning of the movie. This is only speculation, but in the new trailer for the video game there's a little clip of Harry flying his broom around an area that looks like the Burrow. IGN Advertisement The article mentions that they're going to adapt the video game pretty much straight forward from the movie. That's why I believe there's a good chance it'll be in the movie. | That does look like H/G on brooms at the Burrow. But like I said in the HBP thread, they do have stuff in the games that aren't in the movie. Remember that shot of H/G with Sirius at 12GP in the OotP game? Ginny was helping Harry clean 12GP, but the main point of it was to teach Harry (and the gamer) how to do spells. So just because it's in the game, it doesn't guarantee it's in the movie. Just a warning for you all. | Thanks for the new thread Rose! I love the fact that they're including two-on-two Quidditch in the game! I'm sure that will be adorable to see H/G-wise, I'm not so sure if we'll see it in the movie however. | The person goes "Woohoo" in the trailer and it sounds like a girl, so I don't think it's Ron. I doubt it's Hermione, so Ginny's my best guess.
