We think Leo (the astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny and here's why:
1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th
2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members
3) Both have firery spirits that seem to complement each other perfectly

Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her.
After several long moments – or it might have been half an hour – or possibly several sunlit days – they broke apart. The room had gone very quiet. Then several people wolf-whistled and there was an outbreak of nervous giggling. Harry looked over the top of Ginny's head to see Dean Thomas holding a shattered glass in his hands and Romilda Vane looking as though she might throw something. Hermione was beaming, but Harry's eyes sought Ron. At last he found him, still clutching the Cup and wearing an expression appropriate to having been clubbed over the head. For a fraction of a second they looked at each other, then Ron gave a tiny jerk of the head that Harry understood to mean, "Well – if you must."
The creature in his chest roaring in triumph, Harry grinned down at Ginny and gestured wordlessly out of the portrait hole. A long walk in the grounds seemed indicated, during which – if they had time – they might discuss the match.

obviously saw the non-stop CANON evidence of H/G in all the books.

About Luna or Tonks' chances of not being in the OotP movie. Well, because of the scene where Luna tells Harry about her mother that helps him deal with Sirius's death, I don't think she'd be cut. I just can't think of anyone else who they'd be able to replace her with. Ginny, Ron, and Hermione at that time haven't experienced someone they love dying. So that rules them out. The only other person who would be able to do it is Neville, but I just can't see it myself.

If Luna makes the cut, however, I think she'll make it into HBP as well. Granted her part was small but Seamus has been there the whole time in the films so... but then again Percy's role really made an impact starting GoF and he's been cut from that movie. And, let's not forget Molly.

Tonks could survive the movie cull because of her relationship with Remus. Their relationship right now parallels H/G. Both Harry and Remus broke up from those they loved to protect them and R/T could be part of the wake up call Harry needs.

Okay, something else I've been thinking about. Before we were talking about the idea of Harry comforting Ginny if a sibling dies and her allowing him too. Did anyone else find it telling that when Dumbledore died there was no hug, just the holding hands. Have we ever seen Ginny willingly accept a hug from anyone in the form of comfort? Molly doesn't count as I don't see Ginny having any choice in the matter after the chamber.

I found it odd at first when reading the Dumbledore scene that there was no embrace at all seeking comfort when they were walking to the hospital wing, but for them at that time perhaps the touch of their hands was all they needed.

But, it did make me think that Ginny's emotional state might not be that much different from Harry's even though she grew up in a loving family while he did not. Maybe pride made her that way? Or her first year? I always felt that Ginny's ability to lie in OotP might be masking some deeper emotional feelings - and I don't just mean her feelings for Harry.

Ginny does seem to deal with some emotional things in the same way as Harry. When Ron was posioned both discussed what happened at length and obsessively. Like Harry in OotP, Ginny tried to deal with Riddle on her own before she would ask for help.

And, while her relationships lasted longer, perhaps her handling of Michael and Dean weren't really that much different from Harry's handling of Cho. But, the thing is they're managing to get it right more often when it's handling of each other.

And, the comforting thing will eventually be right too, with Harry being able to comfort Ginny, and her allowing him too.

I think you've got a good point here. They do seem a lot alike in their handling of some things. I did notice that they seemed to react the same to Ron's poisoning - both wanting to obsessively discuss what happened and figure it out. (OT, but I also loved Hermione's reaction to Ron's poisoning.

So affected and quiet and emotional...so very un-Hermione-ish.

) A Ginny breakdown/Harry embracing scene could happen. I would be absolutely ASTONISHED if not one Weasley died, one possibly in the Final Battle or whatever you want to call it; most likely Ginny would be present for that and see it with her own eyes. I could ever see Ginny wanting to go after the person who killed her family member, and Harry having to restrain her or pull her back as she fights him tooth and nail. Hmm, I don't know, I'm no JK Rowling...(unfortunately)...

Molly and Percy have been cut?? That's terrible! Do you think Percy will be back in OotP? I don't think we ever really see him in that book, just at Harry's hearing and with the Minister when he comes to Hogwarts. It's very possible that could be cut, or just mentioned offhand, which would be rather sad. The Percy-leaving-the-Weasley-family storyline is so intriguing and could very well play a major role later. I'd love to see it played out on screen but I don't know if they would think it worth it or not.

I hope they keep Luna in OotP, but they may not, just because she hasn't proved to be majorly important - YET. She may have some great importance in Book 7. Well, only time will tell...

To continue with the discussion, I honestly cannot see them cutting Luna out of OotP. She has to be in it, at least a little bit. Not too sure about HBP, since she appeared so infrequently in the books, but definitely in OotP.

I think you answered it right there. It was all they both needed. He knew she was there for him. And both were in a state of shock. Just being close to each other and knowing they were both safe was enough. Ginny's not like Hermione who throws herself at people in an embrace when the emotion gets too overwhelming. Hermione demonstated that in POA -hugging Ron, GOF -hugging Harry before the first task and in OotP - when she was excited to see him. All these time both boys were uncomfortable receiveing these hugs. But for Hermione it's natural. Ginny is different. She's grown up alot since her chamber experience and I'm sure her thoughts and emotions are guarded more than they use to be. Harry's been guarded his whole life because of his hard upbringing. As they become closer we'll see more walls fall between the two of them and their bonding will only become deeper.

And since I am coming in bwtween a discussion, what's this about Luna maybe not being in OoTP? Is this official or just what if?

I adore Luna and she adds a certain flavor to the books so I would be very disappointed if she was not in it. However, if stuff needs to be cut, I would sacrifice Luna in a heart beat as long as they include H/G moments and flesh out Ginny's character in preparation for HBP Movie. But I hope it does not come to that and that there is room enough for both.

I just thought of a reason why Luna hopefully will be in the OotP movie. JKR's words in a past interview, whenever she said in book 7, Ravenclaw will have their moment or something like that. Well, Luna's in Ravenclaw, and I'm thinking Luna plays a big part in Ravenclaw's plot in book 7. If this is the case, then you would think they would have to start introducing us to Luna in the movies.. Starting with OotP.. They couldn't just introduce her in HBP, where she didn't play a big enough part or wait until the book 7 movie and suddenly introduce her.. Nope, if she is a key in book 7, and I think she is, according to JKR's own words about Ravenclaw in book 7, then she would have to be introduced in the OotP movie. Unless, they do not plan on showing that storyline in the book 7 movie.. Who knows what they'll do. I think Luna is needed because of how she played a big part with Harry in a couple of instances in OotP alone, but combine the book 7/Ravenclaw comments from JKR in an interview, and you would think this would be enough to pretty much guarantee we will see Luna in the OotP movie.. I hope so.

Amy, great point about how different Hermione and Ginny are in expressing their emotions. They are exact opposites, that's for sure. I also think Ginny being possessed in CoS still has an affect on her. I mean, she would have to automatically be guarded because of that experience. Harry has certainly been guarded his entire life. This is where they certainly connect. What makes it even more beautiful is the fact that even though they do put up some walls in general, as a natural defense, funny how they did not hesitate to express their mutual romantic feelings for each other during their first kiss and throughout their entire romantic relationship. The very fact that they didn't have a problem with PDA, as well as in general, loving to express their feelings through kisses, etc. shows how immediately confortable, natural and "right" it was for them to be together..

With the H/G, walls do not exist. Both H/G have never been more sure of anything as they are with their deep, deep feelings for each other. What they have goes way beyond a "teenage or immature relationship" as some have been "attempting" to label it over on another thread.. Their relationship is the definition of a deep, true, real and MATURE relationship. JKR showed this plain as day in HBP.. And she couldn't have been more crystal clear in her interview that H/G are the real deal. There is a reason why JKR called H/G TOTAL EQUALS, TOTALLY WORTHY OF EACH OTHER and Ginny as Harry's IDEAL woman. Do these descriptions signal a necessity to "attempt" to call H/G a teenage romance or an immature relationship? Hardly. H/G are a permanent fixture.

About Luna not being in OotP- I adore her character and would be so sad if they left her out of the movie. Her being one of the DA fighting at the Ministry is an important part of the book, I think. She's established as one of Harry's loyal friends and this is continued in HBP.

On the comment about Ginny still not being over the CoS ordel- I totally agree on that. We saw this in HBP, in one of my favorite scenes. Right after Harry catches a whiff of Ginny's scent (

), she comes up to him when she overhears him talking about the HBP Potion's book. Her concern for Harry's doing what a book told him to do was so real and I loved the continuation there from book 2. It also reinforces the H/G connection over it. And to make the scene even greater, Harry immediately assures Ginny that it was okay. I really loved that scene.

That scene was incredible. I loved how Ginny, without hesitation, drills Harry about the book. It was fabulous how Harry tries to reassure her.

It's interesting to see the vast difference in how Ginny and Hermione approach Harry on certain things. Hermione takes the nagging approach and while I love her to death, Harry has made it quite clear that nagging isn't necessarily the best way to go in order to get through to him. With Ginny, she doesn't hesistate. She's blunt about her feelings, but she always has a way to get a point across to him without sounding like she is shouting or putting him on the defensive. Ginny's direct but also approachable, if that makes any sense. There is a constant open form of communication between H/G. They can read each other in such a unique way. I love it.
